Objectives
AIM OF THE COURSE IS TO GUARANTEE STUDENTS AN ADEQUATE KNOWLEDGE OF THE MAIN EVENTS WHICH CHARACTERIZED THE 60'S IN ITALIAN ART. IN PARTICULAR, THE COURSE DEEPENS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ITALIAN AND AMERICAN PAINTING. CENTRAL WILL BE THE PRESENCE OF JASPER JOHNS IN ITALY AROUND 1960.
ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND AND EVALUATE THE WORKS OF ITALIAN AND AMERICAN ARTISTS OF THE SECOND HALF OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY BY INTERPRETING THEIR SPECIFIC ARTISTIC LANGUAGE CORRECTLY

THE COURSE IS INTENDED TO UNDERSTAND THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN AMERICAN PAINTING AND ITALIAN PAINTING AROUND THE 60'S. CENTRAL WILL BE THE DEEPENING OF JASPER JOHNS'S RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ITALIAN ARTISTS COEVI. THEREFORE, IT WILL BE POSSIBLE TO INVESTIGATE THE NEW MEANING THAT ASSUMES THE PICTURE AND THE PAINTING SURFACE.
