Objectives
THE COURSE WANTS
1)TO GIVE TO THE STUDENTS THE PROPER EDUCATION AND TOOLS TO PROFESSIONALLY APPROACH THE TECHNICAL DRAWING.
2)TO GIVE TO STUDENTS THE NEEDED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS FOR CAD 3D MODELLING AND THE MATHEMATICAL KNOWLEDGE FOR PLAN AND REALIZE A CORRECT 3D CAD MODEL AND TO MANAGE THE 3D REPRESENTATION

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
ALPHABET AND LANGUAGE FOR TECHNICAL DRAWING AND GEOMETRIC REPRESENTATION, BOTH IN TRADITIONAL APPROACH AND IN CAD 2D APPROACH. HOW THE MACHINE PARTS WORKS, MECHANICAL LINKS AND MECHANICAL JOINTS, GEARS, BEARINGS AND TOOTHED WHEELS. VIRTUAL MODELLING IN 3D CAD SYSTEMS. MODELLING METHODS AND REPRESENTATION SCHEMES.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
BE SKILLED IN CREATING A TECHNICAL DRAWING IN TRADITIONAL WAY AND IN 2D CAD SYSTEMS; IN ASSONOMETRY AND PROJECTIVE APPROACH, IN CREATING QUOTES AND GIVE SPECIFICATIONS TO MACHINES’ PARTS. BE SKILLED IN CALCULATING AND ALLOCATING DIMENSIONAL TOLERANCES AND IN REALIZING SECTIONS AND TECHNICAL DRAFTS. BE SKILLED IN CREATING, MANAGING AND STRUCTURING A 3D CAD MODEL.

MAKING JUDGEMENTS
BE ABLE TO INDIVIDUATE MOST APPROPRIATE METHODS FOR REPRESENTING AND DESIGNING A PRODUCT PART OR A MACHINE PART IN 2D AND IN 3D ENVIRONMENT. BE ABLE TO EVALUATE THE COMPLETENESS AND THE CORRECTNESS OF A TECHNICAL DRAWING AND OF RELATED TECHNICAL DATA.

COMMUNICATION
BE ABLE TO EXPLAIN AND PRESENT WITH THE RIGHT LANGUAGE (SPECIFIC TERMS AND WORDS) A TOPIC INHERENT TO TECHNICAL DRAWING, TO MACHINE PARTS DESIGN AND TO 3D MODELLING AND REPRESENTATION, USING THE RIGHT TERMS AND NOUNS COMING FROM ISO AND UNI-EN NORMATIVE AND STANDARDS, IN ITALIAN AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE IF NEEDED.

LIFELONG LEARNING SKILLS
TO BE ABLE TO APPLY AND USE THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE IN DIFFERENT FRAMEWORKS AND TO APPLY THE METHODS AND THE TECHNIQUES IN OTHER FIELD OF STUDY/RESEARCH/APPLICATION. BE ABLE TO EASILY LEARN THE USE OF ANY KIND OF SOFTWARE OF 2D AND 3D MODELLING.

REPRESENTATION OF MECHANICAL ELEMENTS: CONNECTIONS, TRANSMISSIONS, GEARS, TOOTHED WHEELS, BEARINGS. TECHNICAL MATERIALS. DRAWING OF MECHANICAL ELEMENTS. BIDIMENSIONAL CAD. HAND MADE AND COMPUTER GRAPHIC ELABORATES. MATHEMATICS FOR 3D CAD. REPRESENTATION METHODS, COMPUTER GRAPHICS AND PERFORMANCES OF A GRAPHIC DEVICE.

WRITTEN EXAM ON TOLERANCES AND SECTIONS, 2D CAD MODELLING AND REPRESENTATION OF AN ASSEMBLY; 3D MODELLING OF A MECHANICAL PART, GRAPHIC ELABORATES. AN ORAL EXAM THAT CONSISTS IN A QUESTIONNAIRE WITH MULTIPLE-CHOICES ANSWERS AND OPEN ANSWERS AND AN INTERVIEW.
THE FINAL MARK IS BASED ON ALL THE EXAMS AND ON THE COMPLETENESS AND CORRECTNESS OF GIVEN GRAPHICAL EXERCITATIONS
