Alfredo D'ATTORRE Curriculum

Graduated with honors in Philosophy in 1997 at Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa, Alfredo D’Attorre obtained a PhD at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa in 2002. He awarded two research fellowships, in 2004 granted by Department of Sociology and Political Science of University of Salerno and in 2005 granted by Department of Theory and History of Law and Politics of the same University, with a project entitled “Effectiveness, obedience, consensus” (tutor: Prof. Alfonso Catania). He was visiting researcher at Universities of München, Saarbrücken, Oxford, London and Berlin. Since 2007 he is "ricercatore" (tenured position: approximately equivalent to lecturer in UK system, assistant professor in USA system) in Legal Philosophy.

His main research interest is in political theory between XIX and XX century, in methodology of social sciences and, particularly, of legal science in its connection with historical sciences, in the challenges to sovereignty in contemporary age.
