Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO INTRODUCE THE MAJOR EXPONENTS AND THE MAIN LITERARY MOVEMENTS OF 20TH CENTURY RUSSIAN LITERATURE.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
STUDENTS:
- WILL KNOW THE MOST RELEVANT MOMENTS OF RUSSIAN LITERARY EVOLUTION IN THE 20TH CENTURY AND ITS MAIN REPRESENTATIVES;
- WILL ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE OF THE HISTORICAL, GEOGRAPHICAL AND CULTURAL CONTEXT;
- WILL UNDERSTAND THE CLOSE INTERWEAVING BETWEEN THE DIFFERENT DIMENSIONS OF POLITICAL, CULTURAL AND LITERARY HISTORY OF THE RUSSIAN SPACE;
- WILL APPROACH THE HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN RUSSIA AND EUROPE IN THE MODERN AGE.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
- ELABORATE ORIGINAL APPROACHES TO THE HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL ANALYSIS OF THE SPECIFICITY OF THE RUSSIAN SPACE;
- COMPETENTLY EXAMINE THE LITERARY SOURCES RELATED TO THE RUSSIAN LITERARY HISTORY OF THE 20TH CENTURY;
- ANALYSE WITH CRITICAL AWARENESS THE THEMES RELATED TO THE COURSE IN THE GENERAL FRAMEWORK OF CULTURAL RELATIONS BETWEEN RUSSIA AND EUROPE;
FORMULATE HYPOTHESES, RECOGNIZE LOGICAL CONNECTIONS, ARGUE, COMPARE AND EVALUATE LITERARY TEXTS RELATED TO THE PERIOD EXAMINED BY THE COURSE;
- CONNECT LITERARY PHENOMENA TO THE CULTURAL CONTEXT AND APPRECIATE THEIR TEMPORAL EVOLUTION.

MAKING JUDGEMENTS
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
- CRITICALLY SELECT BIBLIOGRAPHIC AND LITERARY SOURCES;
- INTERPRET THE LITERARY TEXT AND FORMULATE AUTONOMOUS JUDGEMENTS ON ITS AESTHETIC VALUE;
- SELECT THE CRITICAL APPROACHES APPROPRIATE TO THE TEXT;

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
- HAVE CONVERSATIONS ON MULTIPLE THEMES SHOWING A GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF THE ISSUES RELATED TO THE HISTORY OF RUSSIAN LITERATURE;
- PRESENT AND DISCUSS THEIR ANALYTICAL SKILLS THROUGH TEXTS.

LEARNING SKILLS
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
- USE TRADITIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHIC TOOLS AND COMPUTER RESOURCES FOR ANALYSIS AND DATA STORAGE;
- CARRY OUT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES, UNDERSTAND AND INTERPRET COMPLEX SCIENTIFIC OR LITERARY TEXTS;
- CONTINUOUSLY UPDATE THEIR KNOWLEDGE, USING SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE.
Prerequisites
THE STUDENT MUST HAVE PASSED THE EXAMINATION OF RUSSIAN LITERATURE II AND RUSSIAN LANGUAGE II.

THE COURSE AIMS TO FOLLOW THE EVOLUTION OF 20TH CENTURY RUSSIAN PROSE IN THE GENRES OF DRAMA, NOVEL AND SHORT STORY ON THE BASIS OF THE PROCESSES OF CONSTRUCTION AND DECONSTRUCTION TYPICAL OF MODERNISM AND POST-MODERNISM.

THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE TEACHING OBJECTIVES IS CERTIFIED BY PASSING AN ORAL EXAM (MINIMUM 18/30). ACCOUNT WILL BE TAKEN OF: QUALITY OF EXPOSURE, APPROPRIATENESS OF LANGUAGE, COMPLETENESS AND RICHNESS OF KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED IN THE STUDY, ABILITY TO RELATE THEM TO TOPICS FROM PREVIOUS RUSSIAN LITERATURE STUDIES AND, WHERE POSSIBLE, FROM OTHER LITERATURES STUDIED.
