Objectives
THE COURSE PROMOTES AWARENESS OF THE HISTORICAL PROCESSES OF FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE EUROPEAN FAMILY IN THE MODERN AGE, WITH REGARD TO STRUCTURE, INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS, ECONOMIC STRATEGIES, IN DIFFERENT SOCIAL AND TERRITORIAL CONTEXTS.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: KNOWING AND PLACING PROBLEMS - SPECIFIC TO THE FAMILY DIMENSION - IN THE CONTEXT OF THE SOCIAL HISTORY OF THE ITALIAN AND EUROPEAN MODERN AGE.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: TO BE ABLE TO APPLY THE HISTORICAL KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED IN THE ANALYSIS OF THE SPECIFIC PROBLEMS THAT CAN INVEST THE FAMILY DYNAMICS AND RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ADULTS AND CHILDREN.

IN ORDER TO FACILITATE AN ADEQUATE KNOWLEDGE OF THE HISTORICAL EVOLUTION OF SOCIETY, ITS INSTITUTIONS, FORMS OF AGGREGATION, INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS, BOTH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE, AND THE WAYS IN WHICH THEY ARE CHARACTERIZED ACCORDING TO DIFFERENT SOCIAL AND TERRITORIAL CONTEXTS, THE COURSE PROPOSES THE STUDY OF THE STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS OF THE FAMILY, THE SOCIAL, ECONOMIC, CULTURAL, AND LEGAL DYNAMICS AFFECTING IT DURING HISTORICAL CONJUNCTURES AND TRANSFORMATIONS, AND THE MAIN HISTORIOGRAPHICAL AND INTERPRETATIVE APPROACHES ON THE FAMILY IN THE MODERN AGE.
IN SYNTHESIS, THE PROGRAM WILL DEVELOP THE FOLLOWING KEY TOPICS: SPECIFIC SOURCES ON THE HISTORY OF THE FAMILY; FAMILY AS A UNIT OF RESIDENCE AND REPRODUCTION; FAMILY STRUCTURES IN EUROPE AND THE MEZZOGIORNO IN THE MODERN AGE; FAMILY AS A RELATIONAL AND AFFECTIVE SPACE; LIFE CYCLE OF THE FAMILY AND THE INDIVIDUAL FROM BIRTH TO DEATH; FAMILY AS A UNIT OF PRODUCTION AND CONSUMPTION; CULTURAL HISTORY OF THE FAMILY; SOUTHERN NOBILITY DURING THE SPANISH AGE: THE CASE OF THE ACQUAVIVA D'ARAGONA PRINCES OF CASERTA.
Teaching Methods
LECTURES ON WIDE TOPICS, SUPPORTED BY THE USE OF MASS-MEDIA TOOLS, FOLLOWED BY DISCUSSION WITH STUDENTS ON THE EDUCATIONAL USE OF CONTENT LEARNED; READING AND CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF SHORT REPRESENTATIVE DOCUMENTS.
Verification of learning
FINAL ORAL EXAMINATION VERIFIES OBJECTIVES ABOUT KNOWLEDGE, CORRECT LANGUAGE, CRITICAL CAPACITIES. IT CONSISTS OF QUESTIONS ON THE SUBJECTS SUBMITTED DURING THE LESSONS AND REPERIBLE IN THE PRESCRIPTED BOOKS. IT CHECKS THE LEARNING OF THE CONTENTS, THE DISCUSSION CAPACITY, THE APPROPRIATE LANGUAGE, THE POSSESS OF CONCEPTS AND CONNEXIONS.
