Objectives
TRAINING OBJECTIVES: THE AIM OF THE COURSE IS TO PROMOTE THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE OF THE
PEDAGOGY OF INTERCULTURE TO DESIGN EDUCATIONAL INTERVENTIONS IN MULTI AND INTERCULTURAL CONTEXTS.

THE COURSE AIMS TO OFFER, THROUGH A HISTORICAL, EPISTEMOLOGICAL AND THEMATIC PATH, ELEMENTS OF THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE OF THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE PEDAGOGY OF INTERCULTURE AND REFLECTION ON THE FOLLOWING TOPICS:
- INTERCULTURE AS AN EDUCATIONAL POSSIBILITY (LESSONS 5 HOURS; EXERCISES 1 HOUR);
- INTERCULTURAL PEDAGOGY THROUGH THE CLASSICS (8-HOUR LESSONS; 2-HOUR EXERCISES);
- INTRA-, INTER-, AND TRANS-DISCIPLINARY DIMENSION OF INTERCULTURAL PEDAGOGY (LESSONS 5 HOURS; EXERCISES 1 HOUR);
- HUMAN RIGHTS BETWEEN NATURE AND HISTORY (4 HOURS);
- HISTORICAL, THEORETICAL, ETHICAL AND SOCIAL DIMENSION OF INTERCULTURAL PEDAGOGY (4 HOURS)
- METHODOLOGIES AND TOOLS: NARRATIVE PRACTICES (LESSONS 4 HOURS; EXERCISES 2 HOURS)
Teaching Methods
THE COURSE CONSISTS OF LECTURES (30 HOURS) AND EXERCISES IN CLASS (6 HOURS). THE LECTURES, WHICH TAKE PLACE IN THE CLASSROOM WITH THE HELP OF PROJECTIONS AND THROUGH THE READING OF TEXTS WITH ANALYSIS AND DISCUSSION OF THEIR CONTENT BY THE CLASS, WILL ENABLE THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS OF
INTERCULTURAL PEDAGOGY.
THE EXERCISES WILL PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO RE-PROCESS THE CONTENTS OF THE LECTURES SO THAT THEY CAN APPLY THE KNOWLEDGE
THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED TO ANALYZE AND DESIGN SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL INTERVENTIONS IN MULTI AND INTERCULTURAL CONTEXTS.
Verification of learning
THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE TEACHING OBJECTIVES SHALL BE CERTIFIED BY PASSING AN ORAL TEST WITH A THIRTY-YEAR ASSESSMENT WHICH SHALL BE HELD AT THE END OF THE COURSE. THE ORAL EXAMINATION CONSISTS OF A DISCUSSION AIMED AT ASCERTAINING THE LEVEL OF THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE FUNDAMENTALS OF INTERCULTURAL PEDAGOGY ATTAINED BY THE/A STUDENT/SSA AND TO VERIFY THE ABILITY OF EXPOSURE USING APPROPRIATE TERMINOLOGY. THE HONOURS MAY BE AWARDED TO STUDENTS WHO ACHIEVE A MAXIMUM GRADE OF 30/30 AND WHO DEMONSTRATE THAT THEY APPLY THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ACQUIRED IN AN INDEPENDENT AND ORIGINAL MANNER.
