Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE THE STUDENT WITH READING SKILLS AND ANALYSIS OF GREEK INSCRIPTIONS; UNDERSTANDING OF THEIR IMPORTANCE FOR THE STUDY OF DIFFERENT ASPECTS OF GREEK CIVILIZATION; THE METHODOLOGY AND THE BASIC TOOLS FOR THE STUDY OF A GREEK EPIGRAPH.

NOTES ON THE HISTORY OF THE EPIGRAPHY; PRE-ALPHABETIC WRITINGS; GREEK ALPHABETS OF THE ARCHAIC PERIOD (EXAMINATION, DURING LESSONS, OF LOCAL ALPHABETIC INSCRIPTIONS; ORIGIN AND EVOLUTION OF THE GREEK ALPHABET UP TO THE HELLENISTIC AND ROMAN AGES; TIPOLOGY OF THE INSCRIPTIONS; STUDY OF AN EPIGRAPHIC TEXT: METHODOLOGY AND TOOLS.
