Objectives
THE COURSE PROVIDES THE STUDENTS WITH STHE BASIC METHODOLOGICAL TOOLS FOR THE STUDY OF ANCIENT HISTORY (GREEK AND ROMAN) AND AN OVERVIEW OF THE POLITICAL AND INSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE ANCIENT WORLD (GREEC AND ROMA), FOCUSING ON THE POLITICAL, ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL CHARACTERISTICS. IT PROVIDES THE METHODOLOGY AND THE BASIC TOOLS FOR THE STUDY OF THE LITERARY AND EPIGRAPHIC DOCUMENTS.

INTRODUCTION: DOCUMENTARY BASIS AND CHRONOLOGIC AND GEOGRAPHIC GENERAL ASPECTS.
HISTORICAL EVENTS OF THE GREEK WORLD (FROM THE MYCENAEAN CIVILIZATION TO THE HELLENISTIC PERIOD) AND ROMAN WORLD (FROM THE ORIGINS OF ROME TO THE FALL OF THE EMPIRE).
THE LESSONS WILL BE INTEGRATED WITH THE READING OF TEXTS BY GREEK AUTHORS RELATED TO THE TOPICS DISCUSSED.
