THE MAIN PURPOSE OF THE COURSE IS TO GIVE MAIN INSTRUMENTS FOR STUDING OF THE LEGAL SCIENCES, THROUGH A CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF THE LEGAL LANGUAGE. IN THIS KEY, A GENEALOGY OF THE LANGUAGE OF RIGHTS WILL BE PUT IN PLACE, FROM THE DECLARATION OF 18TH-CENTURY RIGHTS, TO THE CLAIMS OF THE RIGHTS IN THE GLOBAL WORLD AND TO THE EMERGENCE OF THE SO-CALLED 'DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP'. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF THE DIFFERENT STAGES OF THE MODERN AGE, IN WHICH THE DIFFERENT GENERATIONS OF RIGHTS AND THE POLITICAL AND JURIDICAL MECHANISMS HAVE BEEN AFFIRMED THAT ALLOW 'TAKING RIGHTS SERIOUSLY'. UNDERSTANDING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DEMOCRACY AND FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS, ANALYSIS OF THE CATEGORIES OF PUBLIC, PRIVATE, COMMON. UNDERSTANDING OF THE WAY IN WHICH THE MAIN TECHNOLOGICAL TRANSFORMATIONS ARE ABLE TO INFLUENCE PARTICIPATION IN DEMOCRATIC PROCESSES. ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: ACQUIRE THE USEFUL SKILLS FOR THE TEACHING OF JURISPRUDENCE, FOCUSING ON THE MOST SIGNIFICANT ASPECTS OF LAW AND CITIZENSHIP, ON THE FUNDAMENTAL LEGAL NOTIONS AND ON THE SOCIAL FUNCTIONS OF LAW, ON THE THEORETICAL AND JURIDICAL PROFILES OF DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP. AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT: ABILITY TO AUTONOMOUSLY RECEIVE AND INTERPRET SIMPLE AND COMPLEX DATA AND INFORMATION RELATED TO THE DIMENSIONS OF LAW, CITIZENSHIP AND FUNDAMENTAL LEGAL NOTIONS. ABILITY TO EXHIBIT THE THESES COVERED BY THE COURSE OF STUDY, DEMONSTRATING A HIGH DEGREE OF TECHNICAL LANGUAGE. LEARNING ABILITY: ABILITY TO USE THE SKILLS ACQUIRED NOT ONLY IN THE OTHER TEACHINGS, BUT IN THE PATH OF PROFESSIONAL GROWTH. |

THE COURSE DEVELOPS A GENEALOGY OF THE MODERN AGE, AS 'AGE OF RIGHTS'. WHAT ARE THE FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS? THE THEORETICAL FOUNDATIONS OF THEIR RECOGNITION CAN BE DOCUMENTED SINCE THE FRENCH REVOLUTION, IN THE THREE PASSWORDS THAT IT REFERS TO: FREEDOM, EQUALITY AND FRATERNITY. AS STEFANO RODOTÀ POINTS OUT, THE FRATERNITY IS INCORPORATED INTO OUR SYSTEM AS SOLIDARITY. WITH DIGNITY, IT IS A PIVOTAL ASPECT NOT ONLY IN OUR CONSTITUTION, BUT ALSO IN THE EU LEGAL FRAMEWORK. THE CHARTER OF FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS OF THE EUROPEAN UNION, WHICH HAS BINDING LEGAL FORCE, IN ITS "ARTICLE 1" AFFIRMS THAT: "HUMAN DIGNITY IS INVIOLABLE". FOR THE PRINCIPLES OF SOLIDARITY AND DIGNITY TO BE IMPLEMENTED, HOWEVER, IT IS NECESSARY TO REMOVE VARIOUS OBSTACLES: FIRST, THOSE IMPOSED BY A GLOBAL CAPITALISM WITHOUT RULES, WHICH PRESENTS ITS ECONOMIC DIKTAT AS A SORT OF NEW NATURAL LAW TO WHICH THE LEGAL SYSTEMS MUST UNDERGO, AND WHICH CAN ALSO ENTAIL DECISIVE LIMITATIONS ON RIGHTS, ESPECIALLY SOCIAL RIGHTS, CONSIDERED 'TOO EXPENSIVE'. MEANWHILE, THE LANGUAGE OF RIGHTS SEEMS TO EXPAND ON A GLOBAL LEVEL, EVEN IN UNEXPECTED CONTEXTS, ALSO THANKS TO THE USE OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES: ALL THIS IMPOSES A REFLECTION ON THE UNPRECEDENTED RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TECHNOLOGY, REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY AND RIGHTS CLAIMS. |

GRADING SYSTEM: 30-POINT SCALE -MINIMUM PASSING GRADE: 18/30: SUFFICIENT KNOWLEDGE OF COURSE CONTENTS AND LOW ABILITY TO USE THEM IN A STUDY ENVIRONMENT; - BEST GRADE: 30/30: FULL KNOWLEDGE OF COURSE CONTENT AND HIGH ABILITY TO USE THEM IN A STUDY ENVIRONMENT. FINAL GRADE IS TO BE MEANT AS A VERAGE OF GRADED RESULTING FROM EVERY ANSWER TO QUESTIONS. MIDTERM TEST IS JUST FOR ATTENDING STUDENTS. |
