Maria TOTA Curriculum

Born in Salerno, on December 24th 1977

Degree: Laurea cum laude in Mathematics at the Università degli Studi di Salerno, in 2000, with a thesis entitled "Gruppi nilpotenti e loro generalizzazioni” (advisor: prof.ssa M. Maj).

Ph.D.: Ph.D. in Mathematics at the Università "Federico II" di Napoli, in 2004, with a thesis entitled: "Finiteness conditions on normalizers, conjugacy classes and centralizers” (advisor: prof.ssa M. Maj).

Current position: Associate Professor in Algebra at the Department of Mathematics of the Università degli Studi di Salerno, since 2020.

Research themes: Infinite groups with finiteness conditions, nilpotent groups and their generalizations, Engel groups, finite p-groups, symplectic algebras, group-based cryptography.

Other activities: Member of UMI and GNSAGA (INdAM); member of the organizing committee of the International Conference “Ischia Group Theory”, which takes place in Ischia (NA), Italy, every two years, since 2004.
