Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS AT DEVELOPING FURTHER THE KNOWLEDGE OF SPANISH LANGUAGE, DEEPENING THE LINGUISTIC SUBJECTS (MORPHOLOGICAL AND SYNTACTIC STRUCTURES, LEXICAL ASPECTS), AS WELL AS THE SOCIAL KNOWLEDGE OF THE SPANISH WORLD, IN ORDER TO EASE THE INTERCULTURAL SKILLS. IN PARTICULAR, THE COURSE WILL ANALYZE THE SPANISH LANGUAGE WITHIN THE MEDIA, EXAMINING THE JOURNALISTIC LANGUAGE AND THAT OF THE POLITICAL COMMUNICATION. THE ESSENTIAL FEATURES OF THESE LANGUAGES WILL BE ANALYZED UNDER A THEORETICAL POINT OF VIEW AND, IN A SECOND STAGE, WITH A PRACTICAL USE.
THE FINAL GOAL OF THE COURSE IS EASING A CRITICAL REFLECTION ON THE LINGUISTIC MECHANISMS (CIRCUMLOCUTION, REPETITION, METAPHOR, ETC.) THAT CONCERN THIS KIND OF COMMUNICATION, BOTH AT LEXICAL AND MORPHOLOGICAL-SYNTACTIC LEVEL. THE COURSE AIMS TO REACH A COMMUNICATIVE SKILL OF B2-C1 LEVEL OF THE EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK.
Prerequisites
KNOWLEDGE OF THE SPANISH LANGUAGE AT B1-B2 LEVEL OF THE EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK.

THE STUDENT MUST BE ABLE TO READ AND UNDERSTAND THE SUBMITTED TEXTS, TO USE FLUENTLY THE SPANISH LANGUAGE AND TO INTERACT ON THE SUBJECTS PROPOSED DURING THE COURSE. HE SHALL ALSO PROVE TO KNOW THE CHARACTERISTIC ELEMENTS THAT CONFIGURE THE SPANISH LANGUAGE UNDER A THEORETICAL POINT OF VIEW AND TO BE ABLE TO ANALYZE THIS KIND OF TALK UNDER A PRACTICAL POINT OF VIEW AS WELL. AT THE END OF THE COURSE, AND ON THE BASIS OF THE ACQUIRED SKILLS, STUDENTS MUST PROVE TO HAVE ACQUIRED A WIDE KNOWLEDGE OF THE SPANISH LANGUAGE.
Teaching Methods
FACE-TO-FACE LESSONS — 40 HOURS. CLASSES WILL BE TAUGHT IN SPANISH.
Verification of learning
TWO TESTS WILL BE PROPOSED: A WRITTEN TEST (LASTING ONE HOUR) AND AN ORAL TEST (15-20 MINUTES). THE WRITTEN TEST IS PREPARATORY FOR THE ORAL TEST. THE WRITTEN TEST INCLUDES THE LINGUISTIC ANALYSIS OF A TEXT, WHILE THE ORAL TEST WILL CONCERN THE THEORETICAL SUBJECTS DISCUSSED WITHIN THE LESSONS.
