Cristiana STELLATO Curriculum
Cristiana Stellato, M.D., Ph.D., earned her degree in Medicine cum laude at the University of Naples “Federico II” and completed her clinical fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the University of Florence. in 1996 she received a Ph.D. in Broncho-pneumology at the Second University of Naples. From 1992 to 1997, she worked as research and clinical post-doctoral fellow at the Division of Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (Baltimore, USA), where she remained as Faculty until 2010, becoming Associate Professor of Medicine in 2006. Dr. Stellato has been recruited in 2010 at the University of Salerno as Associate Professor of Medicine (sector Med/09) while retaing the title of Adjunct Faculty at the Johns Hopkins University and at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Her research focuses on the mechanisms of allergic mucosal inflammation, regulation of gene expression in airway epithelium, and molecular mechanisms of action of glucocorticoids. She received grants from the National Institute of Health (NIH), American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology (AAAAI) e pharmaceutical companies (Astra-Zeneca, Schering-Plough, Sanofi-Aventis). Dr. Stellato is currently a Consultant for the Respiratory Epithelial Biology Core at the Johns Hopkins University, funded by Sanofi-Aventis. She has been regularly on the Reviewers’ panel for governmental agencies and private foundations in the US, Canada and UK as well as for high impact factor international journals.
