Objectives
KNOWLEDGE: BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF EPIDEMIOLOGY, PATHOPHYSIOLOGY, SEMEIOTICS, DIAGNOSTICS AND THERAPEUTIC APPROACH FOR THE MAJOR PATHOLOGIES COVERED BY THE INDIVIDUAL CURRICULA OF THE INTEGRATED COURSE - HEMATOLOGY, INFECTIOUS DISEASES, GASTROENTEROLOGY, ANESTHESIOLOGY AND CRITICAL CARE MEDICINE, INTERNAL MEDICINE, CLINICAL LABORATORY DIAGNOSTICS – WITH FOCUS ON CORRELATION AND IMPACT ON CLINICAL DENTISTRY.
SKILLS: 1. UNDERTAKE A CORRECT ANAMNESIS TO IDENTIFY EXISTING DISEASES AND EVALUATE THE IMPACT ON DENTISTRY PRACTICE; 2. IDENTIFY THE MAIN CLINICAL PRESENTATION OF PATHOLOGIES STUDIED IN THE CURRICULA AND ADAPT THE DENTISTRY TREATMENTS WHEN NECESSARY; 3. MANAGE DENTISTRY PRACTICE IN MULTIMORBIDITY PATIENTS; 4. UNDERSTAND THE RESULTS OF THE MAIN DIAGNOSTIC AND LABORATORY TESTS RELATED TO THE PATHOLOGIES STUDIED.
Prerequisites
AS FOR SCHOOL’S GENERAL CURRICULUM; BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF EPIDEMIOLOGY, ANATOMY, PHYSIOLOGY, GENERAL PATHOLOGY, MICROBIOLOGY. GENERAL PRINCIPLES OF PHARMACOLOGY.

Teaching Methods
CLASSROOM LECTURES, DISCUSSION AND PRESENTATION OF CLINICAL CASES, DISCUSSION OF SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES.
Verification of learning
FINAL EXAM CONSISTS IN A COLLOQUIUM ON ALL CURRICULA, AIMED AT EVALUATING STUDENT’S ACQUISITION OF REQUESTED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS. EXAM GRADE IS GIVEN IN 30/30 WITH HONORS. THE LATTER IS GRANTED BASED ON HIGH DEGREE OF INTEGRATED KNOWLEDGE OF THE ENTIRE COURSE CURRICULUM. IN ORDER TO ASSIGN THE HONORS MENTION, THE COMMISSION WILL EVALUATE THE OVERALL QUALITY OF PRESENTATION AND APPROPRIATENESS OF SCIENTIFIC TERMINOLOGY USED BY THE STUDENT, AS WELL AS THE LEVEL OF CRITICAL THINKING IN THE UNDERSTANDING OF CLINICAL MEDICINE.
