Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO FACILITATE THE ACQUISITION OF THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE REGARDING THE CLINICAL PRESENTATIONS OF THE MAIN DISEASES IN SURGERY, GASTROENTEROLOGY, NEPHROLOGY, DENTISTRY, THE BASIC ASPECTS OF THE TECHNIQUE OF COLLECTING MEDICAL HISTORY AND INFORMED CONSENT, THE FORMULATION OF CLINICAL QUESTIONS, KNOWLEDGE OF THE DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS USED FOR DISEASE'S EVALUATION, AND THE EVIDENCE-BASED METHODOLOGY FOR THE CORRECT THERAPEUTIC STRATEGY. ALL COMBINED WITH THE NURSING NEEDS AND PROCEDURES THAT WILL THEN BE USED IN THE CONTEXT OF THE INTERNSHIP AND DURING THE PROFESSIONAL TRAINING ACTIVITY.
IN AGREEMENT WITH THE DUBLIN DESCRIPTORS, AT THE END OF THE COURSE AND IN ORDER TO PASS THE EXAMINATION, THE STUDENT MUST DEMONSTRATE:
•HAVING ATTAINED A KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND IN A FIELD OF POST-SECONDARY STUDIES AND ARE AT A LEVEL THAT, CHARACTERIZED BY THE USE OF ADVANCED TEXTBOOKS, ALSO INCLUDES KNOWLEDGE OF SOME CUTTING-EDGE THEMES IN THEIR FIELD OF STUDY.
•ARE ABLE TO APPLY THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING TO DEMONSTRATE A PROFESSIONAL APPROACH TO THEIR WORK, AND POSSESS APPROPRIATE SKILLS TO BOTH DEVISE AND SUPPORT ARGUMENTS AND TO SOLVE PROBLEMS IN THEIR FIELD OF STUDY.
•HAVE THE ABILITY TO COLLECT AND INTERPRET DATA (NORMALLY WITHIN THEIR FIELD OF STUDY) WHICH THEY DEEM USEFUL IN DETERMINING AUTONOMOUS JUDGMENTS, INCLUDING REFLECTION ON SOCIAL, SCIENTIFIC OR ETHICAL ISSUES RELATED TO THEM.
•BE ABLE TO PRESENT THE ARGUMENTS ORALLY IN AN ORGANIZED AND SEMANTICALLY APPROPRIATE MANNER AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SUBJECT OF THE DEBATE.
•AT THE SAME TIME, THEY MUST BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE CRITICALLY WITH SPECIALISTS AND NON-SPECIALISTS ON THE SUBJECTS STUDIED AND TO SUPPORT INTERDISCIPLINARY ARGUMENTS.
•THEY HAVE DEVELOPED THOSE LEARNING SKILLS THAT ARE NECESSARY FOR THEM TO UNDERTAKE SUBSEQUENT STUDIES WITH A HIGH DEGREE OF AUTONOMY.
