THE AIM OF THE COURSE IS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS THE ABILITY TO HANDLE BIBLIOGRAPHICAL, LEXICOGRAPHICAL AND TERMINOLOGICAL TOOLS AND THE MAIN LINGUISTIC CORPORA WITH AUTONOMY AND CRITICAL THINKING, IN ORDER TO DEEPEN THEIR SKILLS AND METALINGUISTIC REFLECTION ON THE SPANISH LANGUAGE AND TO ANALYZE, COMPOSE AND TRANSLATE DIFFERENT TEXTUAL TYPES. IN THE LITERATURE AND LITERARY TRANSLATION CURRICULUM, CRITICAL REFLECTION ON THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL PROBLEMS OF LITERARY AND AUDIOVISUAL TRANSLATION WILL BE DEVELOPED IN PARTICULAR. IN THE LINGUISTICS AND DIDACTICS OF LANGUAGES CURRICULUM, METHODOLOGICAL AND LINGUISTIC SKILLS AIMED AT FACILITATING THE TEACHING OF THE SPANISH LANGUAGE WILL BE REFINED. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING STUDENTS WILL: - STRENGTHEN THEIR KNOWLEDGE IN WRITTEN AND ORAL FORM OF THE SPANISH LANGUAGE BY REACHING C1+/C2 LEVEL OF THE COMMON EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE FOR LANGUAGES (CEFR); - DEEPEN THE METHODOLOGICAL TOOLS FOR LINGUISTIC ANALYSIS OF WRITTEN AND ORAL TEXTS BELONGING TO DIFFERENT FIELDS; - DEEPEN THE CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF DIFFERENT TEXT TYPES; - FURTHER EXPLORE THE ANALYSIS AND TRANSLATION OF DIFFERENT TEXT TYPES, CONSIDERING THE DIFFERENT VARIABLES PRESENT IN LITERARY TEXTS; - DELVE INTO TECHNIQUES FOR THE TRANSLATION OF COMPLEX ORAL AND WRITTEN TEXTS, ESPECIALLY FROM SPANISH TO ITALIAN, AS IN PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE. APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO: - ANALYZE DIFFERENT TEXT TYPES AND CHOOSE THE TRANSLATION MODE ACCORDING TO THE SOURCE TEXT AND ITS PLACE IN THE TARGET LANGUAGE; - ELABORATE AND TRANSLATE DETAILED AND ARTICULATE TEXTS ON COMPLEX TOPICS; - USE BIBLIOGRAPHICAL, LEXICOGRAPHICAL AND TERMINOLOGICAL TOOLS, CORPORA AND DATABASES USEFUL FOR TRANSLATION PRACTICE; - DEAL WITH THE BIBLIOGRAPHY RELATED TO LITERARY AND AUDIOVISUAL TRANSLATION. MAKING JUDGEMENTS STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO: - CONSIDER LINGUISTIC AND TEXTUAL PHENOMENA AS PROBLEMS TO REFLECT ON; - CRITICALLY EVALUATE THE ANALYSIS OF DIFFERENT TEXT TYPES; - CRITICALLY ANALYZE TRANSLATIONS RELATED TO THEIR SPECIALIZATION; - DOCUMENT INDEPENDENTLY AND USING A CRITICAL APPROACH TO DIFFERENT SOURCES. COMMUNICATION SKILLS STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO: - COMMUNICATE AT AN ADVANCED LEVEL IN SPANISH ON COMPLEX TOPICS WHILE ARGUING THEIR POINT OF VIEW; - CONFIDENTLY DEAL WITH ALL KINDS OF PROFESSIONAL AS WELL AS SOCIAL AND ACADEMIC COMMUNICATIVE SITUATIONS; - REPRESENT AND COMMUNICATE, USING TEXTS OR VIRTUAL TOOLS, RESULTS OF THEIR OWN RESEARCH OR ELABORATIONS; - READ AND UNDERSTAND COMPLEX SPECIALIZED TEXTS OF VARIOUS TYPES. LANGUAGE SKILLS STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO: - USE TRADITIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHIC TOOLS AND COMPUTER ANALYSIS RESOURCES FOR DOCUMENTATION; - CARRY OUT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES AND UNDERSTAND AND INTERPRET COMPLEX TEXTS RELATED TO THEIR SPECIALIZATION; - PROCEED TO THE CONTINUOUS UPDATING OF THEIR KNOWLEDGE, USING TECHNICAL AND SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE. |

THE COURSE INVOLVES 125 HOURS OF TEACHING BETWEEN LECTURES AND TUTORIALS (9 CFU). 45 HOURS OF CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION ARE PLANNED, OF WHICH 30 WILL BE BY PROF. IOLANDA ALFANO FOR ALL AND 15 WILL BE CONDUCTED WITH PROF. I. THEINER (FOR THE LITERATURE AND LITERARY TRANSLATION CURRICULUM) OR WITH PROF.SSA I. ALFANO (FOR THE LINGUISTICS AND DIDACTICS OF LANGUAGES CURRICULUM), AND 80 HOURS OF TUTORIALS LED BY THE LANGUAGE ASSOCIATE IN THE LABORATORY. THE COURSE IS ORGANIZED AS FOLLOWS: -CLASSROOM LECTURES ON COURSE TOPICS, WITH APPLIED ACTIVITIES (THEORETICAL LECTURES, TEXT ANALYSIS, TRANSLATIONS); -AUTONOMOUS WORK TO BE DONE AT HOME AND DISCUSSED IN THE CLASSROOM; -ASSISTED PRACTICAL STUDY ACTIVITIES IN THE CLASSROOM OR LABORATORY WITH THE LANGUAGE EXPERT; -SELF-STUDY BASED ON THE BIBLIOGRAPHY AND OTHER TOOLS INDICATED. |

THE EXAMINATION CONSISTS OF A WRITTEN TEST AND AN ORAL TEST, ON DIFFERENT DATES ACCORDING TO THE SCHEDULE ESTABLISHED BY THE LECTURERS, WITH THE WRITTEN TEST PREPARATORY TO THE ORAL TEST AND WITH A SINGLE OVERALL FINAL GRADE. NON-ATTENDING STUDENTS MUST PASS A WRITTEN TEST, LASTING 4 HOURS, WHICH WILL REVIEW THE COURSE CONTENT AND WILL BE STRUCTURED AS FOLLOWS: - A DISSERTION IN LANGUAGE ON THE CONTENTS OF THE COMMON MODULE - THE TRANSLATION OF A TEXT FROM SPANISH TO ITALIAN, CHOSEN ACCORDING TO THE SPECIFIC CURRICULUM (THE LITERATURES AND LITERARY TRANSLATION CURRICULUM WILL ADDRESS THE TRANSLATION OF A LITERARY TEXT). FOR ATTENDING STUDENTS THERE WILL BE ONGOING TESTS THAT REPLACE THE FINAL WRITTEN EXAM AND WORK DONE DURING THE YEAR, WHICH WILL BE EVALUATED FOR THE FINAL EXAMINATION. STUDENTS WHO HAVE NOT EXCEEDED 20% ABSENCES WILL BE CONSIDERED TO BE ATTENDING PASSING THE WRITTEN TEST IS A PREREQUISITE FOR ACCESS TO THE ORAL TEST. THE ORAL TEST CONSISTS IN THE DISCUSSION OF THE TOPICS COVERED DURING THE COURSE AND IN THE REVIEW OF THE WORK DELIVERED AND THE WRITTEN TEST WITH APPROFUNDATION QUESTIONS AIMED AT EVALUATING THE KNOWLEDGE OF OWN ERRORS AND THE CAPACITY OF SELF-CURRECTION, AS WELL AS AN EXAMINATION OF LEARNING, METALINGUISTIC REFLECTION AND CONVERSATION THAT WILL ENABLE COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE TO BE CERTIFIED AT A C1-C2 LEVEL OF THE CEFR.
