SHORT DESCRIPTION AND AIM: This session focuses on durability and ageing of composite materials and structures, encompassing all the mechanical, physical and chemical mechanisms promoting degradation of materials exposed to aggressive environments and to extreme operating conditions. Among the topics of the session: multi-physics/multi-scale approaches, diffuso-mechanics couplings, thermodynamics of diffusion, physics and chemistry of degradation, effects of degradation on the mechanical behaviour.
