WRITTEN EXAM IN THE ASSESSMENT OF THE EXAMINATION WILL BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION: KNOWLEDGE OF THE FUNDAMENTAL TOPICS OF THE DISCIPLINE; THE ABILITY TO CONNECT THE VARIOUS AREAS OF THE DISCIPLINE AND TO APPLY THEORETICAL CONCEPTS TO PRACTICAL EXAMPLES OF LINGUISTIC DATA ANALYSIS; THE CORRECTNESS AND CLARITY OF WRITTEN EXPOSITION; THE ABILITY TO FOCUS, STRUCTURE AND ELABORATE ON THE SPECIFIC CONCEPTS OF THE WORK; THE CORRECTNESS OF THE SOLUTIONS TO THE ANALYTICAL PROBLEMS PROPOSED. THE EXAMINATION CONSISTS OF A WRITTEN TEST FOR BOTH ATTENDING AND NON-ATTENDING STUDENTS CONSISTING OF: A) OPEN-ENDED QUESTIONS ON THE RESPECTIVE SYLLABUSES [BRIEF ABSTRACTS, DEFINITIONS OF THE BASIC PRINCIPLES OF THE DISCIPLINE, ILLUSTRATIONS OF APPLICATIVE ASPECTS, SEMIOTIC PECULIARITIES OF SPEECH, ELEMENTS OF LINGUISTIC PRAGMATICS]); B) TRANSCRIPTION AND/OR PRAGMATIC ANNOTATION EXERCISES OF SPOKEN LANGUAGE SAMPLES. IN ADDITION, THE ATTENDING STUDENTS MAY, OPTIONALLY, SUBMIT A WRITTEN PAPER ON A SPECIFIC TOPIC AGREED WITH THE LECTURER, AS PART OF AN APPLIED WORK (TRANSCRIPTION AND LABELLING OF LINGUISTIC DATA), PREPARED AT THE END OF THE COURSE. THIS APPLICATION WORK MUST BE SENT BY E-MAIL AT LEAST ONE WEEK BEFORE THE CALL TO WHICH ONE INTENDS TO ENROL. A STUDENT WHO ATTENDS AT LEAST 70% OF THE LECTURES WILL BE CONSIDERED TO BE AN "ATTENDING STUDENT". NO MORE THAN 4 ABSENCES ARE ALLOWED. IN PARTICULAR, FOR THOSE WHO INTEND TO SIT THE EXAM AS AN ATTENDING STUDENT, PARTICIPATION IN THE WORKSHOP ACTIVITIES IS ESSENTIAL. THE FINAL ASSESSMENT WILL BE GIVEN ON THE BASIS OF THE WRITTEN TEST AND THE FINAL PAPER (OPTIONAL), WHICH WILL BE WORTH BETWEEN 1 AND 5 ADDITIONAL POINTS. |
