TEACHING AIMS TO DEEPEN KNOWLEDGE OF COMPARATIVE LITERATURE UNDERSTOOD AS THE STUDY OF THE INTERACTION BETWEEN DIFFERENT LITERARY TRADITIONS, EUROPEAN AND NON-EUROPEAN, AND THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LITERATURE AND THE OTHER ARTS. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING SKILLS THE STUDENT WILL KNOW - THE HISTORY AND FOUNDATIONS OF THE DISCIPLINE - THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LITERATURES IN DIFFERENT LANGUAGES - THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE LITERARY TEXT AND OTHER FORMS OF ARTISTIC EXPRESSION - THE COMPLEXITY OF THE FACTORS DETERMINING THE GENESIS, DISSEMINATION AND FORTUNE OF LITERARY PHENOMENA - THE FUNDAMENTALS OF TRANSLATION THEORY ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO - ANALYZE FROM A LINGUISTIC AND LITERARY POINT OF VIEW DIFFERENT TEXTUAL FORMS - COMPARE DATA FROM DIFFERENT LANGUAGES IN A COMPARATIVE WAY - COMPARE LITERARY TEXTS FROM DIFFERENT ERAS AND CONTEXTS COMPARATIVELY AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO - FORMULATE HYPOTHESES, RECOGNIZE LOGICAL CONNECTIONS, ARGUE, COMPARE AND EVALUATE NARRATIVE AND POETIC TEXTS - CRITICALLY SELECT INFORMATION, BIBLIOGRAPHICAL AND LITERARY SOURCES FOR THE COMPARATIVE STUDY OF TEXTS AND LANGUAGES - PLACE AND CONSIDER LINGUISTIC AND LITERARY PHENOMENA IN RELATION TO THEIR CULTURAL AND SPATIAL CONTEXTS OF REFERENCE AS WELL AS THEIR TEMPORAL EVOLUTION. COMMUNICATION SKILLS THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO - COMMUNICATE IN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE - CONSCIOUSLY INTERVENE IN VARIOUS SOCIO-CULTURAL CONTEXTS IN A MANNER APPROPRIATE TO THEIR GOALS AND THE ABILITIES AND NEEDS OF THE TARGET AUDIENCE LEARNING SKILLS THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO - USE TRADITIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHIC TOOLS AND COMPUTER RESOURCES FOR ANALYSIS AND ARCHIVING; - CARRY OUT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES, UNDERSTAND AND INTERPRET COMPLEX TEXTS, WHETHER PUBLIC OR LITERARY; - PROCEED TO THE CONTINUOUS UPDATING OF THEIR KNOWLEDGE, USING TECHNICAL AND SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE. |
