Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO DEEPEN THE KNOWLEDGE OF COMPARATIVE LITERATURE SEEN AS THE STUDY OF THE INTERACTION BETWEEN DIFFERENT LITERARY TRADITIONS AND THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN LITERATURE AND THE OTHER ARTS.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
STUDENTS WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO KNOW IN DEPTH:
-THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN LITERATURES IN DIFFERENT LANGUAGES;
-THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN THE LITERARY TEXT AND OTHER FORMS OF ARTISTIC EXPRESSION;
-THE METHODOLOGIES OF ANALYSIS OF THE LITERARY TEXT AND THE CURRENT CRITICAL DEBATE ON LITERATURE AND CULTURE.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
-COMPARE AND ANALYSE COMPLEX LITERARY TEXTS
-DEVELOP A CRITICAL DISCOURSE ABOUT THE EXAMINED TEXTS, CONNECTING THEM WITH THEIR CULTURAL CONTEXT

MAKING JUDGEMENTS
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
-SELECT BIBLIOGRAPHICAL AND LITERARY SOURCES FOR THE COMPARATIVE STUDY OF TEXTS AND LANGUAGES
-CONNECT LINGUISTIC AND LITERARY PHENOMENA TO THEIR CULTURAL AND SPATIAL CONTEXTS AND APPRECIATE THEIR EVOLUTION IN TIME.

STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
-COMMUNICATE IN FOREIGN LANGUAGES
-APPROPRIATELY ACT IN VARIOUS SOCIAL AND CULTURAL CONTEXTS .

-USE TRADITIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHICAL TOOLS AND COMPUTING RESOURCES OF ANALYSIS AND STORAGE;
-RESEARCH, UNDERSTAND AND INTERPRET COMPLEX TEXTS OF DIFFERENT TYPES;
- CONSTANTLY UPGRADE THEIR KNOWLEDGE USING TECHNICAL AND SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE.

THE COURSE WILL FOCUS ON THE CONCEPT OF ALIENATION OF THE INDIVIDUAL IN CONTEMPORARY SOCIETY, THROUGH THE COMPARISON AND ANALYSIS OF SOME OF THE MOST ICONIC NOVELS OF THE 20TH CENTURY AND THEIR CINEMATOGRAPHIC TRANSPOSITION.

THE EXAM INCLUDES QUESTIONS RELATING TO BOTH THE HISTORICAL CONTEXT OF REFERENCE AND THE STYLISTIC-STRUCTURAL CHARACTERISTICS AND THE LITERARY AND CULTURAL VALUES OF THE LITERARY TEXTS INDICATED IN THE PROGRAM.
