Valeria CONTI Curriculum

Valeria Conti received degree in Biology in 2001, PhD in Pharmacology and Clinical and Experimental Medicine in 2010 and Post degree specialization in Pharmacology in 2011.

From 2002 to 2005 she was fellow at the Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine (TIGEM) in Naples, where she participated in research projects on Thrombocytopenia and Fanconi Anemia.

From 2005 to 2011 she was Fellow and Ph.D Student at the Second University of Naples where she developed experience in both clinical and basic (in vivo and in vitro) research.

From 2011-2012 she was Temporary Research Post-doctoral Associate at the Department of Medicine and Surgery of University of Salerno, where she is dealing of several research projects. In particular, she is studying the effects of cardiac rehabilitation in patients with stable chronic heart failure and she is working at the pharmacogenetic analysis for the project “Prospective Validation Of A Pharmacogenetic Algorithm For Estimating The Appropriate Initial Dose Of Warfarin In Elderly People (≥65 Years), With Mechanical Heart Valves Or Non-valvular Atrial Fibrillation, And Comorbidity”, Sponsored by the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA).

In 2014 Valeria Conti was appointed as Assistant Professor in Pharmacology at the Department of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Salerno and she is Coordinator of Operative Unit of Clinical Pharmacology at University Hospital “San Giovanni di Dio e Ruggi d’Aragona” of Salerno.

Her main research fields are Oxidative Stress, Aging, Physical Exercise in Health and Disease, Genetics and Pharmacogenetics, Cardiovascular and Respiratory diseases

Dr. Conti is a permanent scientific contributor of Pharmacogenetic Newsletter of Pharmacology Italian Society (SIF) of which she is a member. She has published in peer-reviewed journal and she is referee of international peer review journal (European Journal of Pharmacology, World Journal of Medicine and Medical Science Research, Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism).
