ALESSANDRA CIPRIANO Curriculum
Training
Alessandra Cipriano graduated in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology in 2016 at the University of Salerno.
She continued her training at the same structure obtaining, in 2020, the PhD in Drug Discovery and Development, defending a thesis entitled "Rational design, synthesis, and in vitro evaluation of cell-active chemical probes for bromodomain-containing proteins"
Positions and Research Experience
In 2019 Alessandra Cipriano spent a period as a visiting scientist at the laboratories of prof. Alessio Ciulli (School of Life Sciences, University of Dundee, Dundee, Scotland, UK) to deepen her knowledge in design, synthesis and biological evaluation of targeted-protein degraders, i.e. PROTACs (PROteolysis TArgeting Chimeras).
From 2020 to 2023 she was the holder of several research grants at the Department of Pharmacy (University of Salerno) dealing with the design, synthesis and evaluation of the biological activity of small-molecule modulators of epigenetic targets as well as non-epigenetic targets, as NADPH oxidase.
Since March 2023 she is Researcher at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Salerno.
Research activity
Design, synthesis and evaluation of the biological activity of "epi-drugs" for various epigenetic enzymes (with particular reference to protein methyltransferases and acetyltransferases) and for protein epigenetic reader domains (mainly bromodomains).
Design, synthesis and study of the biological activity of drugs active on proteins involved in oxidative damage (mainly NADPH oxidase).
Development of innovative strategies for the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds, both through traditional batch syntheses and using the most innovative and advanced techniques (microwaves, flow synthesis, electrochemistry and photochemistry)
