Simone ROMANO Curriculum

Simone Romano was born in Potenza (Italy) on December 22nd, 1987. He received his master’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Basilicata (Potenza, Italy) in October 2014. In December 2014, he started the Ph.D. program in Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Basilicata, in collaboration with the University of Salento (Lecce, Italy), under the supervision of prof. Giuseppe Scanniello. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Salento in July 2018. In September 2018, he joined the Department of Computer Science at the University of Bari (Bari, Italy) as a postdoctoral research fellow first, and (fixed-term) assistant professor later. Since January 2022, he has been a (fixed-term) assistant professor at the University of Salerno (Fisciano, Italy). He has achieved the Italian National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor in Computer Science (for both INF/01 and ING-INF/05 disciplinary scientific sectors). He has served in the organization and has been a program committee member of several international conferences/workshops including: International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE), International Symposium on Empirical Software Engineering and Measurement (ESEM), and International Conference on Program Comprehension (ICPC). Ha has also been a reviewer for international journals like IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering (TSE), ACM Transactions on Software Engineering and Methodology (TOSEM), Empirical Software Engineering (EMSE), Information and Software Technology (IST), and Journal of Systems and Software (JSS). Simone Romano has co-authored more than 50 scientific publications. His research interests concern Software Engineering and, in particular, include the following topics: Agile Development, Software Refactoring, Software Testing, Software Maintenance, Software Visualization, Software Security, Empirical Software Engineering, and Human Factors in Software Engineering Software.
