Carla SARDO | Curriculum

C. Sardo is an expert in the field of nanotechnologies for biomedical applications, with special interest in Drug and Nucleic Acid Delivery. Since 2019, she's a resercher at prof. Aquino's Lab at UNISA (Italy) where she works on precision delivery of nucleic acids. She finished her PhD in 2015 on the synthesis and characterization of biocompatible polymers for drug and gene delivery at the Lab of Biocompatible Polymers - University of Palermo (UNIPA). In 2012-2019 she was involved in the following projects: "Identification of optimal delivery systems for NABD and study of the mechanisms of action in some models of inflammatory and cancerous human diseases" at UNIPA; "Development and characterization of nano-structured systems for the delivery of drugs for the treatment of retinopathies" at UNIPA and “Oligopod Composites nucleic acids and boron clusters – new material for bionanotechnology” at the IBM - Polish Academy of Science (Lodz, Poland).
