THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS AND POLICY WITH A FOCUS ON THE PROBLEMS AND DEVELOPMENT OBJECTIVES OF THE ITALIAN AND EUROPEAN AGRICULTURAL SECTOR, WITH PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO RURAL AREAS. IN ADDITION, BASIC KNOWLEDGE WILL BE GIVEN TO UNDERSTAND AND ANALYZE PUBLIC INTERVENTION IN THE ECONOMY, WITH AN IN -DEPTH STUDY OF THE OBJECTIVES AND TOOLS THAT CHARACTERIZE EUROPEAN POLICY FOR THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR. AT THE END OF THE COURSE THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO CARRY OUT A BASIC ANALYSIS OF THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC LEVEL OF RURAL AREAS AND AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES TO IDENTIFY THE MAIN ELEMENTS OF A SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT POLICY AIMED AT MANAGING THE CONNECTED PROBLEMS; TO PROVIDE INFORMATION ON CULTIVATION TECHNIQUES (FERTILIZATION, TILLAGE, IRRIGATION) IN THE DESIGN OF AGRICULTURAL SYSTEMS, WITH SPECIFIC INFORMATION ON THE BIOLOGY AND PHYSIOLOGY OF CROPS USEFUL FOR THE PRODUCTION OF FOODS WITH HIGH NUTRACEUTICAL VALUE TO BE USED FOR ANIMAL NUTRITION. THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE SPECIFICITIES OF AGRICULTURE, THE STRATEGIES TO BE IMPLEMENTED TO IMPROVE THE COMPETITIVENESS OF THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR IN DOMESTIC AND FOREIGN MARKETS. THIS KNOWLEDGE WILL BE DEVELOPED TAKING INTO ACCOUNT A NEW REFERENCE FRAMEWORK THAT SEES THE COMPETITIVENESS, SUSTAINABILITY AND RESILIENCE OF THE AGRICULTURAL AND RURAL SECTOR AS ALL -IN-ONE CONCEPTS. IN PARTICULAR, THE STUDENT WILL KNOW: THE ECONOMIC TOOLS TO CONTROL THE SUPPLY AND DEMAND OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS ON THE MARKETS; THE THEORETICAL AND APPLICATIVE FRAMEWORK OF THE CAP; THE THEORETICAL AND APPLICATION FRAMEWORK OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT AND ITS EVOLUTION WITHIN THE EUROPEAN UNION; SEARCH PLATFORMS AND DATABASES OF SCIENTIFIC SOURCES. FURTHERMORE, IT WILL INCLUDE: THE REASONS LEADING TO THE CONTROL OF THE SUPPLY AND DEMAND OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS ON THE MARKETS; THE POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC NEEDS THAT LED TO THE CAP ORIGIN AND THE NEED TO SUBMIT IT TO SEVERAL REVISIONS; THE ROLE OF AGRICULTURE IN RURAL DEVELOPMENT; HOW RURAL DEVELOPMENT INTERVENTIONS CAN BE ASSESSED; EUROPEAN PLANNING FOR SUSTAINABLE RURAL DEVELOPMENT; THE MAIN SOIL – PLANT - ATMOSPHERE RELATIONS AND SYSTEMS OF MEASUREMENT OF THE MAIN PARAMETERS; THE DIFFERENT AGRICULTURAL SYSTEMS; -PRODUCTIVE AND QUALITATIVE RESPONSES OF CROPS TO DIFFERENT CULTIVATION TECHNIQUES AND METHODS TO OPTIMIZE THE MANAGEMENT OF THE PARAMETERS THAT INFLUENCE THE GROWTH THE QUALITY AND THE NUTRACEUTICAL VALUE OF PLANTS TO BE USED FOR ANIMAL NUTRITION. BY APPLYING THE SKILLS ACQUIRED, THE STUDENT MUST BE ABLE TO: MAKING EFFICIENT DECISIONS IN THE ECONOMIC POLICY CHOICES APPLIED TO THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR, WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE CAP; CRITICALLY ANALYZE THE PROBLEMS OF THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR, THE DEVELOPMENT OBJECTIVES AND THE POSSIBLE INTERVENTION TOOLS; PROVIDE ADVICE TO THE DIFFERENT OPERATORS IN THE AREA; BROWSE SEARCH PLATFORMS AND DATABASES ON THE WEB; SEARCH FOR SCIENTIFIC IN - FORMATION AND DATA; MASTER THE MAIN EUROPEAN DESIGN TOOLS; DEVELOP CULTIVATION SYSTEMS WITH LOW ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT IN RELATION TO DIFFERENT PEDO-CLIMATIC CONDITIONS DEVELOP AN EFFICIENT AGRONOMIC MANAGEMENT OF INPUTS APPLIED FOR THE PRODUCTION OF STRATEGIC CROPS FOR ANIMAL FEEDING, INCREASING THE NUTRACEUTICAL VALUE. |
