Objectives
THIS CYCLE OF LECTURES IS FOR STUDENTS WHO AIM TO USE PHILOSOPHY AS INSTRUMENT OF REFLECTION AND ANALYSIS ON PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL PROBLEMS, BUT DO NOT NEED THAT SYSTEMATIC KNOWLEDGE WHICH IS REQUIRED IN ORDER OF TEACHING PHILOSOPHY IN THE SCHOOL.
THE FIRST PART ("PRIMO MODULO") OFFERS A GENERAL MAP OF THE PHILOSOPHICAL THEORIES WHICH HAVE AS OBJECTS THE HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL CONTEXTS. THE SECOND PART (SECONDO MODULO) DISCUSSES THE MAIN PROBLEMS OF CONTEMPORARY ETHICS,
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: STUDENTS ACQUIRE FUNDAMENTAL KNOWLEDGES ON THE PHILOSOPHICAL DOCTRINES WHICH MAINLY INFLUENCED HUMAN SCIENCES AND EDUCATIONAL THEORIES.
ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: STUDENTS ACQUIRE ABILITY TO USE PHILOSOPHY AS INSTRUMENT FOR A CONCEPTUAL ANALYSIS OF PARTICULAR PROBLEMS AND, MOREOVER, AS METHOD OF DIALOGUE AND DISCUSSION WHICH CAN BE APPLIED TO THE EDUCATIONAL FIELD TOO.

WINTER CYCLE OF LECTURES ("1. MODULO")

THE MAIN QUESTION IS: "IS IT POSSIBLE TO UNDERSTAND DIFFERENT POINTS OF VIEW?. COMPREHENSION AND INTERPRETATION AS THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL PROBLEMS". THIS CYCLE OF LECTURES WILL EMPLOY A HISTORICAL METHODS AND FOLLOW THE MAIN THEORIES OF HERMENEUTICS FROM SPINOZA TO GADAMER. NEVERTHELESS, A PART OF IT WILL BE DEDICATED EVEN TO THE PRACTICAL SIDES OF THE PROBLEM AND TO THE METHODS OF DIALOGUE.

THE TOPICS COVERED IN THE MODULE ARE:
1) CONTEMPORARY ETHICS: FUNDAMENTAL CONCEPTS AND PROBLEMS.
2) NORMATIVE ETHICS: DUTY, UTILITY, VIRTUE
3) PRACTICAL ETHICS: COMMUNICATION, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, FUTURE GENERATIONS, BIOETHICS, ENVIRONMENTAL ETHICS
Teaching Methods
LECTURES WILL ALTERNATE EXPOSITIONS AND
EXPLANATIONS OF THE TEACHER TO MOMENTS OF CONFRONTATION DURING WHICH STUDENTS WILL BE ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN ASKING QUESTIONS, IN EXPOSING IDEAS, IN PROBLEMATIZING, IN REFLECTING CRITICALLY.
THE GROUP ACTIVITIES IN THE CLASSROOM INVOLVE COLLABORATIVE WORK AIMED AT ESTABLISHING LINKS BETWEEN THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE.
Verification of learning
THE ORAL TEST CONSISTS IN AN INTERVIEW WITH QUESTIONS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT THE THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL CONTENTS INDICATED IN THE TEACHING PROGRAM. IT IS AIMED TO FIND THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING ACHIEVED BY THE STUDENT, AND TO VERIFY THE EXPOSURE CAPACITY (APPROPRIATE TERMINOLOGY AND ABILITY OF AUTONOMOUS ORGANIZATION OF THE SPEECH)
AT THE END OF THE WINTER SEMESTER, IT IS OFFERED TO STUDENTS THE POSSIBILITY OF HAVING AN INTERCOURSE PROOF WHICH DESCHARGE THE FINAL PROOF FROM THE WINTER CYCLE'S CONTENTS.
