Objectives
MODULE 1
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH BASIC KNOWLEDGE ABOUT BEHAVIOR AND MENTAL FUNCTIONING THROUGH THE ANALYSIS OF THE MAIN PSYCHOLOGICAL THEORIES, WITH PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE EDUCATIONAL CONTEXT.

EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES:
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
KNOW THE THEORETICAL FOUNDATIONS OF PSYCHOLOGY AND THE TERMINOLOGY OF THE DISCIPLINE.
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
BE ABLE TO USE PSYCHOLOGICAL CONCEPTS APPROPRIATELY AND EMPLOY THEM FOR THE ANALYSIS AND DESCRIPTION OF SPECIFIC AND COMPLEX CASES.
AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT:
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO CRITICALLY ANALYZE THE MAIN PSYCHOLOGICAL THEORIES, RECOGNIZING THEIR STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES.

STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO EXPLAIN CLEARLY AND ACCURATELY THE MAIN THEORIES AND CONCEPTS OF GENERAL PSYCHOLOGY USING SPECIALIZED LANGUAGE.

STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO INDEPENDENTLY DEEPEN THEIR UNDERSTANDING OF THE MAIN SCIENTIFIC ISSUES CONCERNING ATTITUDES AND BEHAVIORS.


MODULE II:
IN THIS COURSE, THE MAIN THEORETICAL PERSPECTIVES OF DEVELOPMENTAL AND EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY WILL BE EXAMINED. A NUMBER OF CRITICAL ISSUES IN DEVELOPMENTAL AND EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY WILL BE THE SUBJECT OF IN-DEPTH STUDY.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
UNDERSTAND THE BASIC PRINCIPLES OF DEVELOPMENTAL AND EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: THE ABILITY TO APPLY THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED IN THE FIELD OF DEVELOPMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY TO THE FIELD OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING. THE AIM OF THE COURSE IS TO DEVELOP THE ABILITY TO ANALYSE POSSIBLE PROBLEMS AND TO FIND THE MOST APPROPRIATE EDUCATIONAL SOLUTION.

THE ORIGINS AND DEVELOPMENT OF EXPERIMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY (3 HOURS LECTURE + 2 HOURS GROUP ACTIVITIES);
• RESEARCH METHODS IN PSYCHOLOGY (3 HOURS LECTURE + 2 HOURS GROUP ACTIVITIES);
• SENSATION AND PERCEPTION (4 HOURS LECTURE + 2 HOURS GROUP ACTIVITIES);
• ATTENTION (4 HOURS LECTURE);
• MEMORY AND LEARNING (4 HOURS LECTURE + 2 HOURS GROUP ACTIVITIES);
• VISUOSPATIAL SKILLS (4 HOURS LECTURE);
• MOTIVATION (2 HOURS LECTURE + 2 HOURS GROUP ACTIVITIES);
• EMOTION (2 HOURS LECTURE).
THE LECTURER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MODIFY THE COURSE STRUCTURE TO MEET THE STUDENTS' EDUCATIONAL NEEDS.

MODULO II
THE COURSE AIMS TO ANALYZE THE MAIN THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF DEVELOPMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY, WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE MAIN DEVELOPMENTAL FUNCTIONS: MOTOR, PERCEPTIVE, COGNITIVE, EMOTIONAL, SOCIAL, COMMUNICATIVE-LINGUISTIC, MORAL AND CULTURAL.

Teaching Methods
MODULE I
THE MODULE TAKES PLACE IN THE FIRST SEMESTER OF THE FIRST YEAR AND INCLUDES LECTURES FOLLOWED BY GROUP ACTIVITIES ON SPECIFIC TOPICS. DURING THE LECTURES (SUPPORTED BY POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS), THE REFERENCE THEORIES AND THE BASIC PSYCHOLOGICAL PROCESSES OF GENERAL PSYCHOLOGY WILL BE PRESENTED; IN THE GROUP ACTIVITIES, STUDENTS WILL BE INVITED TO EXPERIMENT WITH USING THESE THEORIES IN THE EDUCATIONAL CONTEXT.

MODULE II
LECTURES, BRAINSTORMING,PRACTICAL ACTIVITIES AND CASE STUDIES.THE COURSE CONSISTS OF 48 HOURS OF LESSONS.
Verification of learning
MODULE I
THE ASSESSMENT OF LEARNING WILL BE CONDUCTED THROUGH A STRUCTURED WRITTEN EXAM WITH MULTIPLE-CHOICE QUESTIONS. THE QUESTIONS WILL PRIMARILY AIM TO EVALUATE THE ABILITY TO REASON BASED ON ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE.
MODULO II
THE EXAMINATION IS WRITTEN: A TEST CONSISTING OF A MINIMUM OF 30 MULTIPLE-CHOICE QUESTIONS ON THE CONTENT OF THE COURSE.
