Objectives
THE GOAL OF THE COURSE IS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH A SOLID UNDERSTANDING OF THE FOUNDATIONAL PRINCIPLES OF ITALIAN LANGUAGE TEACHING AND TO REFLECT ON WHICH VARIETY OF ITALIAN TO TEACH (STANDARD, NEO-STANDARD, SCHOOL-BASED) AND HOW TO TEACH IT.

KNOWLEDGE AND COMPREHENSION SKILLS
THE STUDENT WILL:
- ACQUIRE THE INSTITUTIONAL FOUNDATIONS OF THE DISCIPLINE;
- KNOW THE MAIN STRUCTURES AND VARIETIES OF ITALIAN, FROM AN EDUCATIONAL PERSPECTIVE;
- STRENGTHEN THEIR LINGUISTIC-COMMUNICATIVE AND METALINGUISTIC SKILLS;
- FOCUS ON DEVELOPING LANGUAGE SKILLS, METALINGUISTIC REFLECTION, VOCABULARY LEARNING, TEXTUAL TYPOLOGIES, AND LINGUISTIC AND COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- MASTER THE LINGUISTIC CONTENT UNDERLYING ITALIAN TEACHING;
- DESIGN COHERENT EDUCATIONAL PATHWAYS TO DEVELOP LANGUAGE SKILLS;
- IDENTIFY OBJECTIVES, TOOLS, AND TEACHING METHODS FOR EACH TOPIC;
- CORRECTLY USE THE SPECIALIZED TERMINOLOGY OF THE DISCIPLINE.

AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO EVALUATE AND INTERPRET TEACHING METHODS, STRATEGIES, AND MATERIALS OF VARIOUS TYPES FOR DIVERSE EDUCATIONAL CONTEXTS.

COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO PRESENT, CLEARLY AND WITH APPROPRIATE LANGUAGE USE, THE CONTENT LEARNED DURING THE COURSE.

LEARNING ABILITY
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- DEVELOP CRITICAL REASONING;
- CONVEY INFORMATION, IDEAS, PROBLEMS, AND SOLUTIONS RELATED TO ITALIAN TEACHING;
- USE TRADITIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHIC TOOLS AND DIGITAL RESOURCES.

GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF THE GRAMMATICAL STRUCTURES OF THE ITALIAN LANGUAGE.

E) ITALIAN IN SCHOOLS AND ITS TEACHING
F) TEACHER TRAINING FOR ITALIAN
G) ITALIAN AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (L2)
H) REFLECTIONS ON THE USES OF ITALIAN IN THE NEW MILLENNIUM
Teaching Methods
LECTURES, PLENARY DISCUSSIONS, GUIDED OBSERVATION OF DATA, AND PRACTICAL EXERCISES.
THE COURSE IS PRIMARILY BASED ON FACE-TO-FACE TEACHING. DURING THE LESSONS, SLIDES ARE PROJECTED TO ILLUSTRATE AND DEEPEN THE TOPICS OF THE ADOPTED TEXTS THROUGH GRAPHS, DIAGRAMS, AND APPROPRIATE EXAMPLES.
Verification of learning
THE EXAM AIMS TO ASSESS THE STUDENT'S LEVEL OF UNDERSTANDING OF THE THEORETICAL TOOLS PROVIDED DURING THE COURSE AND THEIR APPLICATION TO REAL LINGUISTIC TEXTS AND DATA.
