Sofia MASTROKOUKOU Curriculum

Dr. Sofia Mastrokoukou, an Assistant Professor in Developmental and Educational Psychology at the University of Salerno, focuses on exploring the interaction between psychological development and educational contexts. She earned her PhD at the University of Milano-Bicocca, where her work delved into the impact of social and structural dynamics on teaching effectiveness, with a particular focus on SWOC analysis in higher education institutions. Her interdisciplinary academic background includes an MSc in Lifelong Education, a second-level Master’s in Teaching Methodologies and Educational Psychology, and degrees in International Studies and Linguistics.

In her academic activities, Dr. Mastrokoukou is dedicated to fostering emotional and social competencies within educational contexts, providing practical tools to create inclusive and supportive learning environments. With extensive experience in applied research, she has contributed to developing psychometric tools, analyzing teacher-student relationships, and identifying barriers faced by students with specific learning difficulties.

Her research focuses on key themes such as resilience, teacher empathy, and the impact of inclusive pedagogies on educational outcomes. She has published extensively on topics including childhood trauma, socio-emotional support strategies, and teaching effectiveness. Dr. Mastrokoukou has also participated in international projects aimed at promoting inclusive educational practices and enhancing accessibility in learning environments.
