Objectives
THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE:
-A QUALIFIED PHILOLOGICAL, CRITICAL, HISTORICAL AND LITERARY COMPETENCE THROUGH THE STUDY OF LITERARY TEXTS IN GERMAN;
-ADVANCED METHODOLOGICAL TOOLS IN THE LINGUISTIC ANALYSIS OF TEXTS OF GERMAN LITERATURE AND IN THE REFLECTION ON LITERARY AND CULTURAL THEORIES;
-A DEEP FAMILIARITY WITH THE DIFFERENT LITERARY LANGUAGES AND THEIR SPECIFICITY;
-KNOWLEDGE OF THE HISTORY OF GERMAN LITERARY CRITICISM.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
STUDENTS WILL:
-LEARN ADVANCED DISCIPLINARY METHODOLOGIES OF THE STUDY OF GERMAN LITERATURE;
-UNDERSTAND LITERARY AND CULTURAL THEORIES OF GERMANISTIC RESEARCH.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
- UNDERSTAND THE LITERARY TEXT IN GERMAN IN THE SPECIFICITY OF ITS LANGUAGE
- APPLY LITERARY METHODS AND THEORIES IN THE ANALYSIS OF LITERARY TEXTS
- DISCUSS THE CONTRIBUTION OF THE LITERARY TEXT TO THE SPECIFIC PHASE OF LITERARY HISTORY AND CULTURAL HISTORY
- DISCUSS RESEARCH RESULTS OF LITERARY CRITICISM

AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
- IDENTIFY METHODOLOGIES APPROPRIATE TO THE ANALYSIS OF LITERARY TEXTS;
- FORMULATE HYPOTHESES, RECOGNIZE LOGICAL CONNECTIONS, ARGUE, COMPARE AND EVALUATE LITERARY TEXTS;
- CRITICALLY DESCRIBE HISTORICAL EVENTS AND LITERARY PRODUCTS BY IDENTIFYING THEIR COMPLEX INTERACTIONS;
- JUDGE THE APPROPRIATENESS TO TEXTUAL ANALYSIS OF THE RESULTS OF RESEARCH IN LITERARY CRITICISM.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
- DISCUSS THE RESULTS OF GERMANISTIC RESEARCH ON SOME FIELDS OF GERMAN LITERARY HISTORY;
- FORMULATE CRITICAL COMMENTARY ON THE BASIS OF ANALYSIS OF THE STRUCTURE OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF TEXTS.

LEARNING SKILLS
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:
-HANDLE PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE RECEPTION AND DISSEMINATION OF LITERARY PRODUCTS IN GERMAN;
-AUTONOMOUSLY CARRY OUT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES, UNDERSTAND AND INTERPRET COMPLEX TEXTS OF A PUBLICISTIC OR LITERARY NATURE;
AUTONOMOUSLY APPLY CRITICAL CRITERIA AND METHODOLOGIES APPROPRIATE TO THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF TEXTS.
Prerequisites
GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF GERMAN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE. STUDENTS MUST HAVE PASSED THE GERMAN LANGUAGE EXAMS I, II, III, IV AND THE GERMAN LITERATURE EXAM I, II, III, IV.
