GENERAL OBJECTIVE. THE COURSE AIMS TO DEEPEN KNOWLEDGE OF ADVANCED INORGANIC CHEMISTRY WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE ESSENTIALITY OF METALS FOR BIOLOGICAL PROCESSES AND THE USE OF METAL COMPLEXES IN CLINICAL DIAGNOSTICS AND THERAPY, AS WELL AS SUITABLE LIGANDS TO REMOVE TOXIC ELEMENTS. KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING. THE COURSE AIMS TO PROVIDE ADVANCED KNOWLEDGE OF BIO-INORGANIC CHEMISTRY WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO THE USE OF METAL COMPOUNDS IN DIAGNOSTICS AND CLINICAL THERAPY. ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING. THE COURSE WILL MAKE THE STUDENT PARTICULARLY INTERESTED IN ORGANOMETALLIC CHEMISTRY ALREADY TREATED DIFFERENTLY IN OTHER ADVANCED INORGANIC CHEMISTRY COURSES, HAVING THE OPPORTUNITY TO DISCOVER A SERIES OF APPLICATION AND IMPLICATIONS OF THE METALS IN MEDICINE. AUTONOMY OF JUDGEMENT. STUDENTS WILL BE GUIDED TO LEARN IN A CRITICAL AND RESPONSIBLE MANNER EVERYTHING THAT IS PROPOSED DURING THE LESSONS AND TO ENRICH THEIR JUDGMENT SKILLS ALSO THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT OF A TOPIC INDICATED BY THE TEACHER AND THROUGH QUESTIONS AND DISCUSSIONS ON THE TOPICS OF THE COURSE WITH THE TEACHER HIMSELF. COMMUNICATION SKILLS. THE COURSE WILL TEND TO FAVOR THE STUDENT'S ABILITY TO CLEARLY AND RIGOROUSLY EXPLAIN THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED, TAKING CARE OF BOTH THE HISTORICAL ASPECTS AND THE FUTURE PROSPECTS FOR THE USE OF METAL COMPLEXES IN CHEMOTHERAPY AND DIAGNOSTICS. LEARNING ABILITY THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO USE TRADITIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHIC TOOLS AND IT RESOURCES TO CARRY OUT RESEARCH ON RECENT TECHNICAL AND SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE IN BIOLOGICAL CONTEXT RELATING TO A PARTICULAR METAL CHOSEN BY THE TEACHER FOR EACH STUDENT. |
