THE COURSE FOCUSES ON THE DEFINITION, DRAFTING AND APPLICATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL REPORTING IN ORGANISATIONS (COMPANIES, PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS, NON-PROFIT ORGANISATIONS). THUS, THE AIM OF THE COURSE IS TO DEEPEN THE GUIDELINES FOR THE DRAFTING OF SOCIO-ENVIRONMENTAL REPORTING (SUSTAINABILITY REPORT) TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION CORPORATE INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND THE RELATIONAL DATA MODEL. THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE REGARDING THE DRAFTING OF A SUSTAINABILITY PLAN THAT ENABLES THE FULFILMENT OF THE REQUIREMENTS OF INTERNATIONAL REPORTING STANDARDS. THROUGH THE STUDY OF CORPORATE INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND, IN PARTICULAR, OF RELATIONAL DATA BASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS, THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO IDENTIFY, MEASURE AND INTERPRET, IN A SYSTEMATIC MANNER, DATA FROM ANY CORPORATE SECTOR, IN ORDER TO COMPARE SCENARIOS AND CHOOSE THE BEST ACTIONS TO BE REPORTED. |

---|---|
MODULE I: - THE CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK RELATED TO THE SUSTAINABILITY PARADIGM (4 HOURS OF LESSONS); - THE TRIPLE BOTTOM LINE APPROACH (2 HOURS OF LESSONS); - COMMUNITY AND NATIONAL STRATEGIES FOR THE PROMOTION OF SUSTAINABILITY (4 HOURS OF LESSONS); - THE TOOLS TO PROMOTE AND DISSEMINATE SUSTAINABILITY (6 HOURS OF LESSONS); - THE GLOBAL APPROACH TO ACCOUNTABILITY (2 HOURS OF LESSONS, 4 HOURS OF SEMINARS AND TESTIMONIALS); - REPORTING GUIDELINES AND REFERENCE STANDARDS (8 HOURS OF LESSONS). MODULE II: THE TEACHING IS DIVIDED INTO THREE BASIC PARTS: 1 THE RELATIONAL MODEL 2) THE SQL LANGUAGE AND 3) DATABASE DESIGN. PRELIMINARY: INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND COMPUTER SYSTEMS, DATABASES, DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS (2 HOURS) 1. THE RELATIONAL MODEL (HRS. LZ. 6, HRS. TUTORIALS 2) THE RELATIONAL MODEL OF DATA. STRUCTURES: RELATIONSHIPS, TABLES, RELATIONAL DATABASES, SCHEMA AND INSTANCE OF A DATABASE. INTRA-RELATIONAL AND INTER-RELATIONAL INTEGRITY CONSTRAINTS. RELATIONAL ALGEBRA: SET OPERATORS OF RELATIONAL ALGEBRA, THE JOIN OPERATOR, QUERIES IN RELATIONAL ALGEBRA. 2. THE SQL LANGUAGE (LECTURE HOURS 8, LAB HOURS 4). DATA DEFINITIONS: THE DATA DEFINITION LANGUAGE AND THE DATA MANIPULATION LANGUAGE, DEFINITION OF DOMAINS, TABLES AND CONSTRAINTS IN SQL. VIOLATION OF CONSTRAINTS. QUERIES AND MODIFICATIONS OF DATA IN SQL. FUNCTIONS, PROCEDURES AND TRIGGERS. 3. DATABASE DESIGN (HRS. LZ. 6, LAB2). CONCEPTUAL DESIGN: ENTITY-RELATION DIAGRAMS. LOGICAL DESIGN. TRANSFORMATION FROM ENTITY-RELATION DIAGRAMS TO RELATIONAL MODEL. |
Teaching Methods | |
---|---|
MODULE I: LECTURES (26 HOURS), SEMINARS AND TESTIMONIALS FROM SCHOLARS AND EXPERTS ON THE SUBJECT (4 HOURS). IN THE FRONTAL LESSONS THE TOPICS COVERED AND THE RELATIVE OPERATIONAL INTERPRETATIONS ARE PRESENTED THROUGH A HOLISTIC APPROACH. THE SEMINARS AND TESTIMONIALS FROM SCHOLARS AND EXPERTS ON THE SUBJECT HAVE THE AIM OF MAKING KNOWN HOW THE OPERATORS IN CHARGE OF GOVERNMENT ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE VARIOUS SECTORAL AND INSTITUTIONAL SYSTEMS CAN TRANSFORM, THROUGH THE CREATION OF A PATH BASED ON SUSTAINABILITY, ANY CONSTRAINTS INTO ADVANTAGEOUS DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES. MODULE II: THE COURSE REQUIRES STUDENTS' CONSTANT ATTENDANCE AT LECTURES. PRACTICAL EXERCISES AIMED AT BETTER ASSIMILATION OF THE CONCEPTS CONVEYED DURING THE LECTURES WILL BE PLANNED. STUDENTS WILL BE ORGANIZED INTO WORKING GROUPS, AND EACH GROUP WILL BE ASSIGNED A PROJECT TO CREATE A DATABASE AIMED AT SOCIO-ENVIRONMENTAL REPORTING. IT WILL BE REQUIRED THAT THE WORKING GROUPS TRANSFER THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE TO THE ASSIGNED PROJECTS. |
Verification of learning | |
---|---|
THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE OBJECTIVES OF EACH OF THE TWO MODULES WILL BE VERIFIED THROUGH PROJECT WORK TO ASCERTAIN COMPETENCES AND PRACTICAL SKILLS. THE EVALUATION WILL BE UNIQUE FOR THE TEACHING AND WILL BE CARRIED OUT OUT OF THIRTY. THE MINIMUM EVALUATION LEVEL (18) IS ASSIGNED WHEN THE STUDENT HAS A FRAGMENTARY KNOWLEDGE OF THE THEORETICAL CONTENTS AND SHOWS A LIMITED ABILITY TO USE THEM IN THE STUDY CONTEXT. THE MAXIMUM LEVEL (30) IS AWARDED WHEN THE STUDENT DEMONSTRATES A COMPLETE AND IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF THE METHODOLOGIES AND TOOLS AND HAS A REMARKABLE ABILITY TO USE THEM IN THE STUDY CONTEXT. HONORS ARE AWARDED WHEN THE CANDIDATE DEMONSTRATES SIGNIFICANT MASTERY OF THE METHODOLOGIES AND TOOLS AND SHOWS REMARKABLE OWNERSHIP OF THE LANGUAGE AND AUTONOMOUS PROCESSING ABILITY EVEN IN CONTEXTS OTHER THAN THOSE PROPOSED BY THE TEACHER. |
