Objectives | |

THE TEACHING GOAL IS TO ANALYZE THE SAME ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEM UNDER BIOLOGICAL, CHEMICAL AND GEOPHYSICAL POINT OF VIEW, SO AS TO UNDERSTAND THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS AND MITIGATE THE ANTHROPIC AND NATURAL CHANGES. THE TEACHING PROPOSES TO INDUCE THE SYNERGISTIC COOPERATION OF SPECIALISTS IN VARIOUS SECTORS. THE MAIN ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING WILL BE: (GEO SEGMENT) SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE OF APPLICATION IN LABORATORY AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT, FOR THE CHARACTERIZATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEM CONCERNED, USING CLASSICAL AND MODERN MODELING AND MONITORING TECHNOLOGIES, FOR DETERMINING SUSCEPTIBILITY LANDSLIDE AND ROCK INSTABILITIES. (CHEM SEGMENT) KNOWLEDGE OF APPLICATION IN ENVIRONMENTAL CHEMISTRY APPLIED TO A SPECIFIC ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEM USING SUITABLE INSTRUMENTS IN FIELD AND LABORATORY. DEVELOPMENT OF ANALYTICAL SKILL AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH AN ENVIRONMENTAL. (BIO SEGMENT) SPECIALISTIC KNOWLEDGE AND APPLICATIONS USEFUL TO THE CHARACTERIZATION, MONITORING/ BIOMONITORING OF ENVIRONMENTAL MATRICES; FIELD APPLICATIONS OF SPECIFIC METHODS FOR THE EVALUATION OF ENVIRONMENTS (NATURAL AND/OR ANTHROPIC). DEVELOPMENT OF THE KNOWLEDGE TO ANALYZE AND UNDERSTAND THE ISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH AN ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEM. THE MAIN ABILITY (I.E. THE ABILITY TO APPLY THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE) WILL BE: (GEO SEGMENT) REPRESENTATION OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEM FEATURES, EVALUATION OF GEO ENVIRONMENTAL RISKS, ENVIRONMENTAL INDICES FROM REMOTE SENSING IMAGES. DYNAMIC INSTABILITY OF SLOPES AND THEIR GEOPHYSICAL MONITORING. (CHEM SEGMENT) REPRESENTATION OF THE EXPERIMENTAL DATA OBTAINED BY MEASURES IN THE FIELD AND LABORATORY. COMPARISON AND READ IN A CRITICAL WAY THE RESULTS OBTAINED. DEVELOP AN UNDERSTANDING AND ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE IN THE LANGUAGES OF SPECIFIC ENVIRONMENTAL DISCIPLINE. (BIO SEGMENT) INTEGRATION OF BIOLOGICAL, CHEMICAL-PHYSICAL AND MICROBIOLOGICAL DATA FOR THE CHARACTERIZATION OF ENVIRONMENTS (NATURAL AND/OR ANTHROPIC) TO DESIGN MONITORING OR RESTORING PLANS. DEVELOP AN UNDERSTANDING AND ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE IN THE LANGUAGES OF SPECIFIC ENVIRONMENTAL DISCIPLINE. |

IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND AND APPLY MOST OF THE COVERED TOPICS, THE STUDENT MUST HAVE ACQUIRED THE BASIC KNOWLEDGE IN THE FIELD OF (GEO SEGMENT) GEOSCIENCE, ENVIRONMENTAL GEOSCIENCE, ENVIRONMENTAL CARTOGRAPHY (CHEM SEGMENT) INORGANIC, ORGANIC, ANALITYCAL CHEMISTRY AND BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF GIS (BIO SEGMENT) BIOLOGY, BOTANY AND MICROBIOLOGY MOREOVER, FOR ALL THE SEGMENTS, BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF STATISTICS. THERE IS NO FORMAL PREREQUISITIES. |

THE TOPICS ADDRESSED CONCERN: (GEO / 10 SEGMENT) 1 CFU FRONTAL, 8 HOURS DIVIDED SO DIVIDED: GEOPHYSICAL MONITORING (2 HOURS); SEISMIC MONITORING IN TECTONIC, VOLCANIC AND GEORESOURCE EXPLORATION ENVIRONMENTS (2 HOURS); INSTRUMENTATION, METHODS AND SOFTWARE FOR DATA ANALYSIS (4 HOURS.) 3 CFU LABORAROTIO, 36 HOURS SO DIVIDED: CONSULTATION AND ANALYSIS OF SEISMIC BULLETINS (4 HOURS); ESTIMATION OF THE KINEMATIC PARAMETERS OF AN EARTHQUAKE (8 HOURS); PROCESSING OF INDUCED SEISMICITY DATA (12); GEOPHYSICAL INVESTIGATION CAMPAIGN OF THE UNDERGROUND (12 HOURS). . THE TEACHING PROVIDES LECTURES (1 CFU) THAT WILL TAKE PLACE IN CLASSROOM WITH THE HELP OF PROJECTIONS; LESSONS IN THE LABORATORY AND IN FIELD FOR A TOTAL OF 3 CFU; INDIVIDUAL STUDY OR IN GROUP FOR THE PROCESSING OF THE DATA COLLECTED DURING THE HOURS OF THE LABORATORY. THE LESSON FREQUENCY IS MANDATORY FOR 2/3 OF HOURS FOR EACH OF 3 CFU ASSOCIATED WITH EACH SEGMENT. |

THE LEVEL OF ACHIEVEMENT OF OBJECTIVES IS CERTIFIED BY PASSING AN ORAL EXAM OF ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF WITH AN EVALUATION EXPRESSED IN THIRTIES. EACH STUDENT CAN TAKE THE EXAM IN THREE DIFFERENT DAYS (ONE FOR EACH SEGMENT) TO BE DISTRIBUTED DURING THE PERIOD OF VALIDITY OF THE SESSION. FOR EACH SEGMENT, THE EXAM INCLUDES QUESTIONS ON THE CONTENT OF THE COURSE AND THE PRESENTATION OF THE WORKS ON THE ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT (IF REQUIRED BY THE SEGMENT). THE STUDENT WILL BE ASSESSED ON THE BASIS OF THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICAL ACQUIRED; ON THE DEGREE OF DEVELOPMENT OF THEIR ABILITIES OF ANALYSIS AND UNDERSTANDING OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS; REASONING CAPACITY; ABILITY TO PROCESS THE DATA OBTAINED DURING THE PRACTICAL LESSONS AND EXPOSURE OF THE CONCLUSIONS REACHED; AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT AND EXHIBITION CAPACITY. THE MINIMUM MARK FOR PASSING THE EXAMINATION OF EACH OF THE SEGMENTS IS 18/30 AND IS AWARDED WHEN THE STUDENT SHOWS A LIMITED KNOWLEDGE OF THE TOPICS COVERED IN THE LESSON AND THE PRESENTATION OF A WORKSHOP (IF REQUIRED IN THE SEGMENT) IN WHICH THE TOPICS THEY ARE TREATED IN A SUPERFICIAL WAY. THE MAXIMUM MARK (30/30) OF THE EXAMINATION OF EACH OF THE SEGMENTS IS AWARDED WHEN THE STUDENT SHOWS A COMPLETE AND IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF THE TOPICS COVERED IN THE LESSON AND THE PRESENTATION OF THE ELABORATE (IF REQUESTED IN THE SEGMENT) IN WHICH THE TOPICS ARE COVERED COMPLETE WAY. FOR ALL SEGMENTS, PRAISE MAY BE ATTRIBUTED TO STUDENTS WHO REACH THE MAXIMUM VOTE OF 30/30 AND WHO PROVE THAT THEY ARE ABLE TO APPLY AUTONOMY KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ACQUIRED EVEN IN CONTEXTS OTHER THAN THOSE PROPOSED. INTERMEDIATE EVALUATIONS BETWEEN MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM WILL BE GRADUATED ON THE BASIS OF THE ASSESSMENT OF THE KNOWLEDGE THAT EACH STUDENT SHOWS TO HAVE ACQUIRED. THE OVERALL SCORE FOR THE ENTIRE COURSE WILL BE ASSESSED AS THE ARITHMETIC AVERAGE OF THE SCORES OBTAINED BY THE STUDENT IN THE EXAMINATIONS OF THE THREE SEGMENTS. ROUNDING WILL BE EXCESS IF THE DECIMAL OF THE VALUE OF THE AVERAGE IS GREATER OR EQUAL TO 5 AND BY DEFECT IF LESS THAN 5). AWARDS TO THE OVERALL VOTE CAN ONLY BE AWARDED IF THE STUDENT HAS OBTAINED PRAISES IN EACH OF THE EXAMINATIONS OF THE THREE SEGMENTS. |
