Paolo ESPOSITO Curriculum

Paolo Esposito, since 2008 is Professor of Latin Literature and Latin Language at the University of Salerno. His critical production consists with two books (" Il racconto della strage", Naples 1987; "La narrazione inverosimile", Naples 1994) and a lot of articles, through about thirty years (1975-2004). His studies mostly deal with the poet Lucan, but also with Virgil, Ovid, Seneca, Persius, Petronius, Calpurnius Siculus, Valerius Flaccus, Statius and Apuleius. He, together with I. Gallo, has collected the papers of “Ovidio: da Roma all'Europa", Naples 1998; together with L.Nicastri, has collected the papers of " Lucano", Naples 1999; together with E. A. Ariemma has collected the papers of " e la tradizione dell'epica latina" (Napoli 2004). Then he is the editor of the following text " scolii a Lucano ed altra scoliastiaca latina" (Pisa 2004). At present, he has just achieved a wide and up-to-date commentary on book IV of Lucan's poem (Naples 2009). Since November 2010 he is the coordinator of the Ph.D. in Classical Philology, and since 2014 he is head of the Section of Philological and Historical Sciences of Antiquity and Middle Ages of the PhD Ramus. Since December 2013 he is Chairman of the Faculty of Humanities.
