THE PROGRAM IS SO ORGANIZED: 1) A SUMMARY OF THE HISTORY OF LATIN LITERATURE (FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE AUGUSTAN AGE), FOR ASPECTS, THEMES AND GENERAL PROBLEMS. SUMMARY, IN HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE, OF THE ESSENTIAL NOTES OF PHONETICS, MORPHOLOGY, SYNTAX, PROSODY, METRIC. NOTES ON THE HISTORY OF THE MANUSCRIPT TRADITION OF THE MAIN AUTHORS; 2) REPUBLICAN HISTORIOGRAPHY: CAESAR AND SALLUSTIUS. 3) VIRGIL'S GEORGICS; 4) THE LATIN LOVE ELEGY. LESSONS WILL BE INTEGRATED WITH: A) THE STUDY OF AN ORGANIC SYNTHESIS OF THE HISTORY OF LATIN LITERATURE, WITH PARTICULAR REGARD FOR THE ARTISTIC PERSONALITY OF GREATER RELIEF (ENNIUS, NEVIUS LUCILIUS, PLAUTUS, TERENCE, CAESAR, CICERO, VARRO, SALLUSTIUS, LUCRETIUS, CATULLUS, VIRGIL, HORACE, TIBULLUS, PROPERTIUS, OVID, LIVY) AND TO THE HISTORICAL REFERENCE PANELS OF DIFFERENT PERIODS. B) A SUMMARY, BY BROAD LINES (PRINCIPLES OF PHONETICS AND MORPHOLOGY, SYNTAX OF CASES, OF THE VERB, OF THE PERIOD), OF THE LATIN LANGUAGE; C) THE STUDY OF THE BASIC FEATURES OF HEXAMETER, ELEGIAC COUPLET AND CATULLIAN METERS; D) THE ANALYSIS OF ONE OR MORE AUTHORS THROUGH THE STUDY OF MONOGRAPHIC ESSAYS. STUDENTS WHO CANNOT ATTEND COURSE ARE URGED TO CONTACT THE TEACHER, IN ORDER TO AGREE WITH HIM A DIFFERENT PROGRAM. |

THERE WILL BE A SYSTEMATIC CHECK OF THE LEARNING LEVEL REACHED THROUGH A CONSTANT INVOLVEMENT OF THE STUDENTS, CALLED TO TEST THE QUALITY OF THEIR KNOWLEDGE. IN PARTICULAR, THEY WILL BE INVITED TO EXPOSE PERSONAL RESOURCES OF THE CONTENT PROPOSED IN THE COURSE OF LESSONS. WRITTEN VERIFICATIONS AFTER THE FIRST HALF AND AT THE END OF THE COURSE ARE PROVIDED. |
