Objectives
THIS TEACHING OFFERS AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE TEACHING OF "HISTORY OF PHILOSOPHY AND HISTORY OF PHILOSOPHICAL MAIEUTICS". THE OTHER TEACHING IS SUITABLE FOR THE FUTURE TEACHER WHO USES PHILOSOPHY FOR DIDACTICAL PURPOSES, THIS ONE IS MORE SUITABILE FOR THOSE WHO PLAN CAREERS IN EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT AND NEED TO USE PHILOSOPHY AS A TOOL FOR REFLECTION ON EDUCATIONAL GOALS. THE FIRST CYCLE OF LECTURES OFFERS AN INTRODUCTION TO "CULTURES" AS THE ENVIRONMENT OF HUMAN ACTION AND OFFERS THE CONCEPTUAL TOOLS FOR THE PHILOSOPHICAL QUESTIONS THE STUDENTS DISCUSS IN THE FOLLOWING YEAR. THE SECOND CYCLE OF LECTURES FOCUSES THE SOCIO-POLITICAL CONTEXT OF ACTUAL EDUCATIONAL PRACTICES, DISCUSSING MAINLY CONTEMPORARY PHILOSOPHICAL THEORIES AND THEIR ANALYSIS OF DEMOCRACY, INSTITUTIONS AND SOCIAL INCLUSION.

WINTER CYCLE OF LECTURES (1. MODULO)
TITLE: UNDERSTANDING AND INTERPRETATION. A GUIDE TO THE PHILOSOPHICAL DEBATES ON "HERMENEUTICS" SINCE SPINOZA, VICO, SCHLEIERMACHER; DILTHEY TO GADAMER AND RICOEUR.
THE CYCLE OF LECTURES WILL DISCUSS IN ITS LAST PART EVEN THE ISSUE OF THE INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION AND UNDERSTANDING, ANTICIPATING SOME OF THE ISSUES OF THE SECOND CYCLE.



SPRING CYCLE OF LECTURES (2. MODULE):
TITLE: FOREIGNERS WHO LIVE AMONG US, AND THE POLITICS OF HOSPITALITY

THIS COURSE AIMS AT PROVIDING BASIC KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THEORIES OF SOCIAL INCLUSION AND DEBATES ABOUT HOSPITALITY.


MAIN TOPICS:

1) PAST THEORIES ABOUT MIGRATION
2) HISTORICAL ANALYSIS OF SOME EPISODES OF ETHNIC EXCLUSION AND MASS PERSECUTION
3) CURRENT DEBATES ABOUT MIGRATION IN EUROPE AND AMERICA.
4) DEBATES WITHIN THE FIELD OF POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY
5) EDUCATIONAL IMPLICATIONS



Teaching Methods
TEACHERS WILL ADOPT THE FOLLOWING METHODOLOGIES:
-GENERAL INTRODUCTORY LECTURES FOLLOWED BY QUESTION AND ANSWERS FOCUSED ON THE MAIN TOPICS OF THE LESSON.
-READING AND ANALYSIS OF TEXTS, PLUS GENERAL DISCUSSION WITH THE WHOLE CLASS.
Verification of learning
ORAL INTERVIEW. THE PROOF CONSISTS OF 3-4 QUESTIONS AT LEAST FOR EACH CYCLE OF LECTURES ("MODULES"), QUESTIONS WILL CONCERN THE ISSUES DISCUSSED IN THE CLASS AND IN THE ABOVE INDICATED BOOKS.
THE PROOF IS AIMED AT CHECKING THE CAPACITY TO DEVELOP CRITICAL REASONING ON THE PHILOSOPHICAL AND PHILOSOPHICO-POLITICAL ISSUES WITH A SPECIAL FOCUS ON THEORIES OF SOCIAL INCLUSION AND DEBATES ABOUT HOSPITALITY DEVELOPED IN THE FIELD OF PHILOSOPHY AND SOCIAL SCIENCES.

STUDENTS HAVE THE POSSIBILITY, IF THEY WISH. TO HAVE A INTERCOURSE PROOF ON THE ACTIVITIES OF THE FIRST CYCLE OF LECTURES ("PRIMO MODULO").
