Objectives
THE COURSE, CONSISTING OF CLASS LECTURES, AIMS TO PROVIDE KNOWLEDGE OF PHOTO-CATALYSIS FIELD AND ITS USE IN ORGANIC SYNTHESIS WITH PARTICULAR EMPHASIS ON ASYMMETRIC SYNTHESIS. MOREOVER, PURPOSE OF THE COURSE IS TO GIVE INFORMATION ABOUT THE MOST USED METHODS FOR THE SYNTHESIS OF INTERESTING HETEROCYCLIC COMPOUNDS.
THE MAIN ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE WILL BE:
•ASYMMETRIC METAL-FREE PHOTOCATALYSIS
•SYNTHETIC APPROACH TOWARDS SEVERAL CLASSES OF HETEROCYCLIC POLYPHENOLIC COMPOUNDS.
THE MAIN SKILLS WILL BE:
•TO DESIGN THE SYNTHESIS OF HETEROCYCLIC COMPOUNDS (ON SOLID-PHASE, TOO).
•TO SOLVE SYNTHETIC PROBLEMS USING PHOTO-CATALYTIC METHODOLOGIES.

THE TEACHING WILL BE 8 HOURS OF CLASSROOM LESSONS AND POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS. THERE WILL BE PDF FILES AVAILABLE TO THE ATTENDING STUDENTS.

ORAL EXAMINATION WILL BE HELD, CONSISTING OF A DISCUSSION ABOUT A RESEARCH PAPER CONCERNING THE SUBJECT OF THE COURSE.
