FILOMENA FERRUCCI Curriculum

Ferrucci Filomena is a full professor of Computer Science at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Salerno, Italy. She received an MSc degree in Computer Science (cum laude) from the University of Salerno (Italy) in 1990. In 1995 she received a PhD in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Naples (Italy). From 1995 to October 2001, she was a Research Associate at the University of Salerno. From November 2001 to October 2011, she was an associate professor and since November 2011 she is a full professor at the same university, where she leads the Software Quality and Measurement research group. Since the academic year 1998/1999 she has been a professor of the software engineering courses of the Computer Science degrees of the University of Salerno.

Her main research interests include Empirical Software Engineering, Software Development Effort/Cost Estimation, Software Metrics, Fault Prediction, Testing, Machine Learning & Data Mining, Search Based Software Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science Education. In the last years, she has focused on the use of machine learning and search-based techniques to address the construction of predictive models in various fields.

She has published about 200 peer-reviewed papers in international journals, books, and conference proceedings. She was co-editor of three books and guest editor of two special issues.

She was the coordinator of the International PhD on Information Systems and Software Engineering jointly organized with University College of Dublin.

She is the department coordinator for internationalization and she is tutor for about 60 Erasmus+ mobility agreements.

She was Delegated by the Chancellor of the University of Salerno for the Diploma Supplement (the University of Salerno was awarded the "DS Label 2013-2016" by the European Commission as recognition of the excellence in the implementation of the Diploma Supplement).

She was the local coordinator of the Erasmus Intensive Programme HUMAIN – Human Machine Interaction and SAVRO - Simulation and virtual reality in robotics for industrial assembly processes. From 2015 to 2021 she was chair of the Bachelor and Master programmes in Computer Science at the University of Salerno.

Editorial Board Member of IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering and Organizational Committee Member of multiple Software Engineering conferences and events (including the International Summer School on Software Engineering)
