Curriculum Docente
Alfonso Siano is Chair and Full Professor of Marketing and of Corporate Communication and Brand Management.
He worked previously at Planning and Control Department of the Istituto per la Ricostruzione Industriale (I.R.I.) in Rome.
He was previously Lecturer and Researcher in Business Management at Sapienza University of Rome.
He served as "Delegato del Rettore" for coordinating communication activities of the University of Salerno (from 2002 until 2016).
He was Founder and Chair of the Doctoral Programme in "Marketing and Communication" at the University of Salerno (from 2002 until 2016). He was Director of the Master Programme of a first level in "Public Relations of Organizations. Relationship Management" - University of Salerno (in partnership with FERPI and ASSOREL, 2007-2008 and 2011-2012 editions).
He is the Scientific Director of both the Brand Management Centre (BMC) and the Sustainability Communication Centre (SCC) at the University of Salerno.
He is member of the Società Italiana di Marketing (SIM) and Società Italiana di Management (SIMA).
His primary research interests: corporate communication, brand management and brand co-creation, strategic marketing and marketing communications, CSR and sustainability communication.
His research on these topics has been published in leading academic journals: Journal of Business Research, European Management Journal, International Journal of Advertising, Journal of Brand Management, Business Strategy and the Environment, Journal of Product and Brand Management, Journal of Cleaner Production, Corporate Social Responsibility & Environmental Management, International Journal of Tourism Research, Current Issues in Tourism, Electronic Commerce Research, International Journal of Bank Marketing, Qualitative Market Research: An International Journal.
Further research on marketing and corporate communication has been published in referred academic journals including Journal of Marketing Communications, Corporate Communications: an International Journal, Journal of Communication Management, Journal of Consumer Behaviour, Sustainability, Journal of Marketing Analytics, Journal of Business-to-Business Marketing, International Journal of Electronic Marketing and Retailing, International Journal of Electronic Customer Relationship Management, Italian Journal of Marketing, Micro & Macro Marketing, and Sinergie Italian Journal of Management.
His publications include six books and four co-edited volumes.

He has been the Scientific Supervisor and Project Manager of European Union-funded research projects.
