Objectives
THE TEACHING COURSE PROVIDES A GREATER IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE ABOUT MODELS AND METHODS FOR THE RISK ANALYSIS IN TRANSPORT SYSTEMS, AS WELL AS IN TUNNELS. MOREOVER, IT DESCRIBES THE CRITERIA FOR CORRECTLY ANALYSING, DESIGNING AND MANAGING TRANSPORT SYSTEMS UNDER THE ASPECTS OF USER SAFETY.
THE TEACHING COURSE PROVIDES ALSO A GREATER IN-DEPTH KNOWLEDGE ABOUT MODELS AND METHODS FOR THE PERIPHERALIZATION RISK ANALYSIS IN COMPLEX URBAN SYSTEMS, WITH REFERENCE TO RECOMMENDATIONS OF BOTH THE 2030 AGENDA FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND THE NEW URBAN AGENDA, BOTH TOOLS DEVELOPED BY THE UNITED NATIONS. MOREOVER, IT DESCRIBES THE CRITERIA FOR EFFECTIVE RISK MITIGATION THROUGH URBAN AND REGIONAL PLANNING TOOLS.
Prerequisites
THE EXAMS OF “PROBALITY AND STATISTICS”, AS WELL AS "ROADS, RAILWAYS AND AIRPORTS I AND II" HAVE TO HAVE BEEN PASSED.
FOR THE SUCCESSFUL ACHIEVEMENT OF THE SET OBJECTIVES, THE KNOWLEDGE OF AT LEAST ONE OF THE FOLLOWING EXAMS IS ALSO RECOMMENDED BUT NOT MANDATORY: “ANALISI DEI SISTEMI URBANI E TERRITORIALI”; “FONDAMENTI DI URBANISTICA”; “URBANISTICA”; “TECNICA URBANISTICA”.

Teaching Methods
THE COURSE IS BASED ON THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL LESSONS, WITH SOME APPLICATIONS TO CASE STUDIES, SHOWING THE PREDICTIVE CAPABILITY OF THE MORE APPROPRIATE MODELS FOR QUANTIFYING THE RISK LEVEL.

THE ACHIEVEMENT OF PREFIXED OBJECTIVES IS TO BE EVALUATED BY MEANS OF EXAM QUESTIONS ON THE SUBJECTS DEALT DURING THE TEACHING COURSE.
