Teaching Methods | |
---|---|
THE COURSE INCLUDES 60 HOURS (6 CFU) OF TEACHING, INVOLVING BOTH THEORETICAL LESSONS AND PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS. SPECIFICALLY, THERE ARE 40 HOURS (4 CFU) OF THEORETICAL LESSONS AND 20 HOURS (2 CFU) OF PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS. THE DEVELOPMENT OF A ROAD PROJECT AND A SPECIFIC ROAD INTERSECTION IN STUDENT GROUPS IS ALSO FORESEEN. IN DETAIL, THE COURSE CONSISTS OF: FRONTAL THEORETICAL LESSONS IN CLASS-ROOM THAT WILL ENABLE STUDENTS TO ACQUIRE THE ELEMENTS NECESSARY FOR THE CORRECT DESIGN OF ROAD INTERSECTIONS AND THE FUNDAMENTALS OF THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF RAILWAYS, AS WELL AS AIRPORT RUNWAYS AND APRONS; IN-CLASS EXERCISES WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF TASKS THAT WILL ALLOW STUDENTS TO DEVELOP A ROAD PROJECT AND A SPECIFIC ROAD INTERSECTION, AS WELL AS TO APPLY THE METHODS AND MODELS DISCUSSED IN THE CONTEXT OF THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF RAILWAY LINES AND AIRPORT RUNWAYS AND APRONS; DEVELOPMENT OF A ROAD PROJECT AND A SPECIFIC ROAD INTERSECTION AT HOME WITH INDIVIDUAL CORRECTIONS DURING THE PROFESSOR'S OFFICE HOURS. THE PROJECT WILL ENABLE STUDENTS TO LEARN HOW TO DESIGN AND/OR FOLLOW THE CONSTRUCTION OF A ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE PROCESS. FOR THIS PURPOSE, STUDENTS ARE DIVIDED INTO GROUPS OF 2-3 PEOPLE. THE PRESENCE OF STUDENTS IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED, EVEN IF IT IS NOT COMPULSORY. |
Verification of learning | |
---|---|
THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE COURSE OBJECTIVES IS CERTIFIED THROUGH A SINGLE FINAL EXAM, LASTING 40-50 MINUTES, AT THE END OF THE COURSE. THIS FINAL EXAM INCLUDES AN ORAL TEST ON THE TOPICS DISCUSSED DURING THE COURSE, INCLUDING THE PRESENTATION OF THE ROAD PROJECT AND A SPECIFIC ROAD INTERSECTION DEVELOPED IN STUDENT GROUPS. THE FINAL DISCUSSION AIMS TO VERIFY: THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE; THE UNDERSTANDING ACHIEVED; THE ABILITY TO USE APPROPRIATE TERMINOLOGIES. THE RESULT OF THE FINAL EXAM IS EXPRESSED WITH A MARK OUT OF THIRTY. THE SCORE FOR THE ORAL TEST DEPENDS ON THE DEPTH OF THE PROJECT WORK AND THE STUDENT'S ABILITY TO CORRECTLY PRESENT THE COURSE CONTENT AND CRITICALLY DISCUSS THE TOPICS COVERED. THE MINIMUM SCORE TO PASS THE FINAL EXAM IS 18/30, WHEN THE STUDENT DEMONSTRATES A SUFFICIENT LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE OF THE SUBJECT. THE HIGHEST MARK IS 30/30, WHEN THE STUDENT DEMONSTRATES AN IN-DEPTH LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE OF THE SUBJECT. FOR GETTING THE FULL MARKS (30/30 WITH HONORS), THE CAPACITY OF TRANSVERSE CORRELATIONS AMONG DIFFERENT SUBJECTS OF THE TEACHING COURSE AND/OR, WHERE POSSIBLE, WITH OTHER COURSES WILL BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT. |
