Objectives
THE COURSE’S STRUCTURE COMPRISES TWO MODULES. IT IS MEANT FOR ALL PHD STUDENTS FROM ALL CURRICULA, WITH THE AIM OF TRACING A HISTORY OF RESEARCH WITHIN THE HUMANITIES; THIS IS DONE BY ANALYZING RESEARCH GOALS AND BY ADDRESSING ITS PROBLEMS CRITICALLY, INCLUDING ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS. THE NOTION OF CULTURAL HERITAGE WILL BE CONSIDERED CAREFULLY IN THE LIGHT OF ITS BEING CONSTANTLY TRANSFORMED; THE COURSE WILL ALSO GIVE SPECIAL CONSIDERATION TO THE SOCIAL OUTCOME AS A FOLLOW UP TO RESEARCH ACTIVITY WITHIN THE HUMANITIES. LESSONS ARE INTERSPERSED WITH SEMINAL CLASSES THROUGHOUT WHERE WORKS AND DOCUMENTS INFORMING THE CONTEMPORARY DEBATE ON HUMANISTIC CULTURE ARE DISCUSSED. THE RELEVANCE OF CULTURAL HERITAGE IS ADDRESSED AS IMPACTING THE DEFINITION OF THE POLITICS OF INTEGRATION AND IT AFFECTS ECOLOGICAL TRANSITIONING.

THE COURSE MEANS TO INVESTIGATE, PRIMARILY, THE CONCEPT OF HUMANISTIC CULTURE AND CULTURAL HERITAGE IN ORDER TO DRAW ITS HISTORICAL-CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK IN THE LIGHT OF THE CONTEMPORARY DEBATE (FIRST PART). SUBSEQUENTLY, SOME FOREMOST THEORETICAL STANCES ARE GOING TO BE ANALYZED IN RELATION WITH HUMANISTIC RESEARCH (SECOND PART).
Teaching Methods
THE COURSE IS GOING TO PRESENT A THEORETICAL PART AS WELL AS USING A RANGE OF DIGITAL SOURCES AND MATERIALS, FAVORING AN ACTIVE PARTICIPATION OF PH.D. STUDENTS

AT THE END OF THE COURSE OF LECTURES,THE EXAM CONSISTS OF AN ORAL EXAMINATION WHICH AIMS TO ASCERTAIN STUDENT'S PREPARATION AND HER/HIS CAPABILITY TO USE THE ACQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
