Stefano RIEMMA Curriculum

Stefano Riemma was born in 1964  and graduated cum laude in Mechanical Engineering (1988) from the University of Naples  with a thesis titled : "Simulation Methods for FMS Design".  From 1988 up to 1993 he was employed in an aeronautical firm as responsible for startup and management of advanced manufacturing and information systems. In 1997, he got a PhD in Industrial Plant Management at University of Naples with  a dissertation on  "Flexible Manufacturing Systems advanced tools for design and management". In 1998, he became associate professor  and started to teach Operations Management at the Department of Mechanical Engineering (University of Salerno); in 2002 he became Full professor. His lectures deal with Production planning and control, Maintenance of manufacturing resources, Inventory management, ERP management.  In 2009-2011, he was director of the PhD program on "Innovation Engineering and Management" at the University of Salerno. In 2011, he started as chief of the Industrial Engineering Department. His main research topics are Manufacturing Information Systems, Automation of Manufacturing Systems, Supply Chain Management, Production planning and control, Healthcare management. He is scientific coordinator of many research projects developed in partnership with some primary national firms. He is scientific coordinator of the "Centre for Healtcare technology development" project sponsorized by the Italian Industrial Ministry. He is referee of the Italian Industry Ministry to evaluate projects of Innovation technology. He is consultant of some justice courts to assess industrial plants value. He is author of more than 70 research papers  presented at relevant International Congress and published on several international journals as International Journal of Production Research, International Journal of Computer Integrated Manufacturing, International Journal of Operation and Quantitative Management. He is member of the board of the  Centre of “New technology for production activity” created by Campania Region in 2002. He is member of APICS, POMS, ANIMP and INFORMS society. He reviewed papers for International Journal of Production Research and International Journal of Operations and Quantitative Methods.
