Objectives
THE AIM OF THE COURSE IS TO PROVIDE IN-DEPTH AND SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE ON THE MAJOR MOMENTS OF ITALIAN, EUROPEAN AND WORLD HISTORY AND THEIR GEOGRAPHICAL AND CULTURAL CONTEXTS OF STRUCTURAL AND LONG-TERM REFERENCE.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE STUDENT:
- WILL KNOW THE DISCIPLINARY FOUNDATIONS OF THE GREAT THEMES OF EUROPEAN IDENTITY IN THE MODERN AGE THROUGH THE EXAMINATION OF THE MAJOR MOMENTS OF MODERN HISTORY;
- IT WILL UNDERSTAND THE INSTITUTIONAL, ECONOMIC AND GEOGRAPHICAL RELATIONS OF MODERN EUROPE AND THE ORIGINAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE OTHER TERRITORIALITIES OF THE WORLD KNOWN AND CONQUERED, STOPPING ON THE MOST CHARACTERIZING MOMENTS OF THE HUMAN AND CULTURALDIVERSITIES DISCOVERED IN THE IN THE NEW WORLD.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- IDENTIFY AND TRANSLATE PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE NEED TO "UPDATE" THE HISTORICAL STUDY, OR TO FIND OUT IN THE TRADITION OF THE PAST THE TRACES OF THE SOCIO-CULTURAL DYNAMICS OF THE MODERNITY;
- EXAMINING WITH PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE THE DIFFERENT AREAS OF HISTORICAL STUDIES RELATING TO THE MODERN AGE;
- ELABORATE AND / OR APPLY ORIGINAL APPROACHES AND INTUITIONS TO MODERN HISTORY IN A WAY TO CONTRIBUTE TO OVERCOMING A HISTORICAL LOOK, WHICH OVERCOMES THE USUAL BARRIERS OF HISTORICAL RESEARCH;
- SOLVE THE QUESTION OF THE EUROCENTRIC VISION OF MODERN HISTORY, FAVORING THE MOST POSSIBLE UNITARY PERCEPTION OF THE HISTORY OF THE MODERN WORLD.

AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- SELECTING THE PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE NEED TO "UPDATE" THE HISTORICAL STUDY, OR TO FIND OUT IN THE TRADITION OF THE PAST THE TRACES OF THE SOCIO-CULTURAL DYNAMICS OF OUR MOST STRINGING CURRENTITY;
- IDENTIFY THE PROCESS OF GRADUALLY OVERCOMING HISTORIOGRAPHICAL, EVEN CLASSICAL ISSUES, IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE MOST GENERAL HORIZON OF RELATIONS BETWEEN HISTORICAL FACTS AND PROCESSES OF MODERNITY;
- DISCOVER NEW KEYS TO READING AND INTERPRETING THE IDEA OF THE MODERN THROUGH THE EXAMINATION OF UNEXPLORED RELATIONS BETWEEN EPISODES AND PHENOMENA, WHICH ARE PLACED THE LOCAL OR REGIONAL HISTORICAL SCALE.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- TO SUSTAIN CONVERSATIONS ON MULTIPLE THEMES, WHICH CONTRIBUTE TO A DEEP KNOWLEDGE OF HISTORIOGRAPHICAL GUIDELINES RELATING TO MODERN HISTORY;
- REPRESENT AND COMMUNICATE, THROUGH TEXTS OR VIRTUAL INSTRUMENTS, HISTORIOGRAPHICAL ISSUES WITH OWN PROCESSING.

LEARNING SKILLS
THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO:
- USE THE TRADITIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHICAL TOOLS AND THE COMPUTER RESOURCES FOR ANALYSIS AND ARCHIVING SOME DATA;
- CARRY OUT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES, UNDERSTAND AND INTERPRET COMPLEX TEXTS, ADVERTISING OR LITERARY;
- PROCEED WITH THE CONTINUOUS UPDATING OF KNOWLEDGE, USING THE REFERENCE TECHNICAL AND SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE
Prerequisites
1. KNOW HOW TO DEVELOP AND / OR APPLY ORIGINAL APPROACHES AND INSIGHTS SO AS TO HELP ADVANCE THE STATUS OF YOUR RESEARCH IN THE HISTORICAL CONTEXT.
2. KNOW HOW TO WORK WITH PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE IN THE VARIOUS FIELDS OF CONTEMPORARY HISTORY STUDIES.
3. ABILITY TO CONDUCT DATA MANAGEMENT, ANALYSIS AND CRITICAL EVALUATION OF THE ISSUES ADDRESSED.
4. ABILITY TO IDENTIFY AND SOLVE PROBLEMS RELATED IN PARTICULAR TO THE NEED TO "ACTUALIZE" THE HISTORICAL STUDY, OR TO FIND IN THE TRADITION OF THE PAST THE TRACES OF THE SOCIO-CULTURAL DYNAMICS OF THE PRESENT.

- THE ABILITY OF THE EXPRESS CLEARLY USING A CORRECT AND APPROPRIATE LANGUAGE, DEMONSTRATING A GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF THE SPECIFIC LANGUAGE OF THE DISCIPLINE
- THE ABILITY TO ORGANIZE A ARTICULATED AND RELEVANT SPEECH ON THE PROPOSED ARGUMENTS, SELECTING THE MOST SIGNIFICANT ASPECTS AND INSERT THEM IN THE RIGHT HISTORICAL AND INSTITUTIONAL FRAMEWORK.
