Objectives
THE PHYSICS-STATISTICS COURSE IS HELD IN THE FIRST SEMESTER OF THE FIRST YEAR. IT IS DIVIDED INTO 4 TEACHING MODULES: GENERAL PHYSICS WITH 3 CFU, MEDICAL STATISTICS WITH 2 CFU, ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC MEASUREMENTS WITH 2 CFU AND INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEMS WITH 2 CFU, FOR A TOTAL OF 108 HOURS OF LESSON. THE COURSE AIMS TO PROMOTE THE ACQUISITION OF THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE CONCERNING THE BASIC ELEMENTS OF GENERAL PHYSICS, MEDICAL STATISTICS, ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC MEASUREMENTS AND INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEMS. IN PARTICULAR, IN ADDITION TO THE BASIC ELEMENTS, THE ASPECTS RELATED TO DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING WILL BE ANALYZED.

- ABILITY TO UPDATE THROUGH BIBLIOGRAPHIC TOOLS.
Prerequisites
THE STUDENT MUST HAVE ACQUIRED BASIC KNOWLEDGE IN THE FIELD OF PHYSICS AND MATHEMATICS PROVIDED BY NORMAL HIGH SCHOOL CURRICULA.

- ANALYSIS OF VARIANCE AND TEST T OF STUDENT.
- TEST OF THE CHI SQUARE
- MULTIVARIATE ANALYSIS.
- SURVIVAL ANALYSIS.
ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC MEASUREMENTS MODULE (2 CFU - 24 HOURS)
- ELEMENTS OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING.
- MEASUREMENT THEORY AND BASIC INSTRUMENTATION.
INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEMS MODULE (2 CFU - 24 HOURS)
- INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND DATA PROCESSING.
- HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE.
- MAIN OPERATING SYSTEMS AND APPLICATION PROGRAMS.
- INTERNET.
Teaching Methods
THE COURSE INCLUDES LECTURES FOR 108 HOURS. THE FREQUENCY TO LESSONS AND LABORATORY IS MANDATORY. IN ORDER TO TAKE THE FINAL EXAM, THE STUDENT MUST HAVE ATTENDED AT LEAST 75% OF THE TEACHING HOURS. THE MODE OF VERIFICATION OF PRESENCE IS MADE KNOWN BY THE TEACHER AT THE BEGINNING OF THE LESSONS.
Verification of learning
THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE TEACHING OBJECTIVES IS CERTIFIED BY PASSING AN EXAM WITH EVALUATION IN THIRTIETHS. THE TEST AS A WHOLE MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO ASCERTAIN THE CAPACITY FOR KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING, THE ABILITY TO APPLY THE SKILLS ACQUIRED, THE ABILITY TO EXHIBIT, THE ABILITY TO LEARN AND DEVELOP SOLUTIONS IN INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT. THE PROFESSORS HOLDING THE COORDINATED MODULES PARTICIPATE IN THE OVERALL COLLECTIVE ASSESSMENT OF THE STUDENT'S PROFIT.
