DURING THE COURSE THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE MAIN TOPICS OF MEDICAL PHYSICS OF INTEREST FOR THE DEGREE COURSE. IN PARTICULAR IT WILL ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE OF THE MAIN MODELS OF MEDICAL PHYSICS, IN CONNECTION WITH THE HYPOTHESIS ON WHICH SUCH MODELS ARE BASED, THUS INCLUDING, CRITICALLY, ALSO LIMITS OF VALIDITY AND APPLICABILITY IN REAL CONTEXTS (KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY). THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO APPLY THE MODELS OF PHYSICS APPLIED TO THE QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE DESCRIPTION OF REAL CASES ALSO IN INTERDISCIPLINARY CONTEXTS OF INTEREST FOR THE COURSE OF STUDIES, BY VERIFYING THE HYPOTHESIS AND CONDITIONS ON SUCH MODELS ARE BASED. THE STUDENT WILL ALSO BE ABLE TO EVALUATE THE QUALITY OF THE EXPECTED RESULTS BOTH IN RELATION TO THE LIMITATIONS OF THE PHYSICAL MODELS ADOPTED AND IN RELATION TO MEASUREMENT ERRORS (APPLIED KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING). THE STUDENT WILL BE ABLE TO INTEGRATE THE NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE AND MANAGE THE COMPLEXITY OF THE INFORMATION IN THE ACQUISITION AND APPLICATION OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF MEDICAL PHYSICS, AS WELL AS TO FORM JUDGMENTS AND WORKING HYPOTHESIS, TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE CONSEQUENCES AND THE LEGAL LIABILITY PRACTICE OF KNOWLEDGE (AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT). THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE THE ABILITY TO EXPOSE THE TOPICS OF MEDICAL PHYSICS WITH PROPERTY AND SIMPLICITY OF LANGUAGE, ALSO AIMED AT A CLEAR AND EFFECTIVE TRANSMISSION OF CONTENTS AND RESULTS IN INTERDISCIPLINARY CONTEXTS, EVEN TO NON-EXPERT PERSONNEL (SECTOR). THE STUDENT WILL ACQUIRE THE ABILITY TO EXPAND AND DEEPEN THE TOPICS OF PHYSICS AND ITS INTERDISCIPLINARY APPLICATIONS IN AN AUTONOMOUS WAY (ABILITY TO LEARN). |

Teaching Methods | |
---|---|
THE COURSE (6 CFU) INCLUDES LECTURES AND NUMERICAL EXERCISES. ATTENDANCE TO LECTURES AND NUMERICAL EXERCISES IS MANDATORY. TO GIVE THE FINAL EXAM THE STUDENT MUST HAVE AT LEAST 75% OF THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF THE HOURS. THE MODE OF CHECKING THE ATTENDANCE IS MADE KNOWN BY THE PROFESSOR AT THE BEGINNING OF THE LESSONS. |
Verification of learning | |
---|---|
THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE IS CERTIFIED BY PASSING AN EXAMINATION WITH AN ASSESSMENT IN THIRTIETHS. THE EXAM CONSISTS OF WRITTEN TEST AND OF AN ORAL TEST. THE WRITTEN EXAM IS PRELIMINARY TO THE ORAL EXAMINATION AND CONSISTS OF A TEST WITH MULTIPLE CHOICE EXERCISES ON TOPICS OF THE TEACHING PROGRAM. THE TEST TAKES PLACE BEFORE THE ORAL EXAMINATION AND IS CONSIDERED POSITIVE WITH THE ACHIEVEMENT OF PREDETERMINED MINIMUM SCORE. THE WRITTEN TEST LAST AT LEAST ONE HOUR AND IS DESIGNED TO TEST THE ABILITY TO CORRECTLY APPLY THE THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE AND THE ABILITY TO COMPLY WITH THE PROPOSED PROBLEMS. THE ORAL TEST CONSISTS IN A DISCUSSION WITH QUESTIONS ON THE THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL CONTENTS INDICATED IN THE TEACHING PROGRAM AND IS FINALIZED TO ASSESS THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY OF COMPREHENSION REACHED BY THE STUDENT, TO CHECK THE ABILITY TO EXPRESS CONCEPTS, USING THE APPROPRIATE TERMINOLOGY AND ABILITY OF AUTONOMOUS ORGANIZATION OF PRESENTATION OF THE SAME TOPICS OF THEORETICAL CONTENT. |
