Objectives
ATTENDING AT THE EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES OF THE COURSE, STUDENTS WILL ACQUIRE SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES IN BOTH THE ANALYSIS AND IN THE MANAGEMENT OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ORGANIZATIONAL PROCESSES. IN PARTICULAR, STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO INVESTIGATE THE MAIN PROCESSES REALIZED IN AN IDEAL FIRM, IDENTIFYING THE BEST METHODS TO DEPICT THEM IN A REALISTIC AND EFFECTIVE WAY. ACCORDING TO THEM, THEY WILL BE SUPPORTED IN SELECTING THE MOST SUITABLE CHOICES OF PROCESSES REENGINEERING, WITH THE EVENTUAL AIM OF IMPROVING BOTH ORGANIZATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS AND EFFICIENCY. BESIDES, STUDENTS WILL EARN A SOLID THEORETICAL AND EMPIRICAL EXPERTISE IN THE FIELD OF QUALITY ACCREDITATION SYSTEMS. THE CONTENT OF THE COURSE WILL BE BUILT ACCORDING TO THE INNOVATIVE COMPLEXITY MANAGEMENT APPROACH. STUDENTS WILL BE PROFICIENT WITH THE BASIC PRINCIPLES OF COMPLEXITY MANAGEMENT, APPLYING AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH TO THE ANALYSIS AND THE MANAGEMENT OF ORGANIZATIONAL PROCESSES.

THE STUDENTS WILL ACHIEVE THE BASIC NOTIONS IN THE FIELD OF BUSINESS PROCESS MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATION ANALYSIS. IN PARTICULAR, THEY WILL FOCUS ON THE DESIGN AND THE REEINGENEERING OF ORGANIZATIONAL PROCESSES. OVERCOMING THE CLASSIC FUNCTIONALISTIC INTERPETATION, THE ANALYSIS OF THE STRUCTURES AND THE ANALYSIS OF THE PROCESSES WILL BE CONTRASTED. DRAWING FROM THIS CONCEPTUAL APPROACH, STUDENTS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH A TAXONOMY OF BOTH ORGANIZATIONAL PROCESSES AND REENGEENERING MODELS. IN THE LIGHT OF THE FINDINGS OF THE PREVAILING LITERATURE, THE ATTENTION WILL BE FOCUSED ON INCREMENTAL PROCESS REENGEENERING (SOFT CHANGE) AND RADICAL PROCESS REENGEENERING (RADICAL CHANGE), ACCORDING TO A PERSPECTIVE WHICH IS CONSISTENT WITH THE TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT APPROACH. LAST BUT NOT LEAST, STUDENTS WILL BE LEAD IN AN IN-DEPTH CONCEPTUAL AND EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS OF THE ISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH THE QUALITY ACCREDITATION OF ORGANIZATIONAL PROCESSES.
Teaching Methods
INTERACTIVE AND APPLICATIVE LESSONS WILL BE INTEGRATED WITH FRONTAL LESSONS. IN THIS WAY, STUDENTS WILL BE INCITED TO FACTUALLY APPLY THE CONCEPTUAL MODELS STUDIED DURING THE EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES. CASE STUDIES, IN-BASKET SECTIONS, ROLE PLAYING, PROJECT WORKS AND PROBLEM SOLVING LEARNING WILL BE THE MAIN APPROACHES USED.
