THE COURSE, DIVIDED INTO TWO MODULES, AIMS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH KNOWLEDGE RELATING TO ORGANISATIONAL BEHAVIOUR AND METHODOLOGIES AND TOOLS FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF QUALITY MANAGEMENT AND CERTIFICATION MODELS. FOR THE FIRST MODULE, STUDENTS WILL ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE RELATING TO QUALITY ASSURANCE SYSTEMS AND TOOLS, METHODOLOGIES AND ANALYSIS PROCESSES FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MODELS OF QUALITY CERTIFICATION. FOR THE SECOND MODULE THE FOCUS WILL BE ON LEADERSHIP AND DECISION-MAKING PROCESSES, IN ORDER TO PROMOTE A CULTURE OF ORGANISATIONAL CHANGE IN COMPLEX ENVIRONMENTS. STUDENTS WILL DEVELOP AN AWARENESS OF THE COMPLEXITY THAT CHARACTERISES LEADERSHIP AND DECISION-MAKING PROCESSES WITHIN ORGANISATIONAL SYSTEMS AND WILL BE ABLE TO APPLY THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED FOR THE APPLICATION OF QUALITY AND TEAM MANAGEMENT APPROACHES. BY THE END OF THE COURSE, STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO INDEPENDENTLY IDENTIFY AND SET UP THE MOST SUITABLE AND EFFECTIVE METHODOLOGICAL AND TECHNICAL APPROACHES TO ACHIEVE THEIR OBJECTIVES. IN ADDITION, THEY WILL KNOW HOW TO EVALUATE THE POTENTIAL AND LIMITATIONS OF USING THE TECHNIQUES AND MODELS LEARNED. STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO: - COMMUNICATE KNOWLEDGE, IDEAS, PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS CLEARLY AND UNAMBIGUOUSLY, USING TECHNICAL TERMINOLOGY APPROPRIATELY AND ADAPTING THE MODE OF EXPRESSION TO THE CULTURAL AND PROFESSIONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE RECIPIENTS OF THE COMMUNICATION; - EFFECTIVELY USING MULTIMEDIA AND COMMUNICATION TOOLS. FINALLY, STUDENTS WILL DEVELOP THE SKILLS OF: - STUDY INDEPENDENTLY, EFFECTIVELY INTEGRATING THE KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED; - EFFECTIVELY UNDERTAKE HIGHER-LEVEL TRAINING COURSES; - EMBARK ON MANAGERIAL CAREERS THAT REQUIRE A HIGH DEGREE OF AUTONOMY. |

FOR THE QUALITY MANAGEMENT MODULE, THE TOPICS COVERED IN THE LESSONS ARE AS FOLLOWS: - CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK OF QUALITY (4 LESSON HOURS); - QUALITY OF PRODUCTS, PROCESSES AND ORGANISATIONS (4 LESSON HOURS); - CERTIFICATION SYSTEMS AND TOOLS WITH A VIEW TO THE CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT OF IT SERVICES (16 LESSON HOURS; 8 HOURS OF SEMINARS AND TESTIMONIALS); - MODELS FOR SELF-ASSESSMENT, EVALUATION AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT (6 LESSON HOURS; 4 SEMINAR HOURS). FOR THE LEADERSHIP AND DECISION MAKING MODULE) THE TOPICS COVERED IN THE LECTURES ARE AS FOLLOWS - FUNDAMENTALS OF ORGANISATIONAL BEHAVIOUR (7 LESSON HOURS); - MOTIVATION, TEAMS AND CHANGE MANAGEMENT (7 LESSON HOURS); - THEORIES OF LEADERSHIP (7 LESSON HOURS); - DECISION MAKING (7 LESSON HOURS) - INDIVIDUAL PERCEPTION AND DECISION MAKING (7 LESSON HOURS); - COLLECTIVE DECISION MAKING WITHIN ORGANISATIONS (7 LESSON HOURS). |

TEACHING IS DIVIDED INTO TWO MODULES: ‘LEADERSHIP AND DECISION MAKING’ (42 HOURS) AND ‘QUALITY MANAGEMENT’ (42 HOURS). THE TEACHING IS MAINLY STRUCTURED IN LECTURES AND ACTIVITIES AIMED AT THE ACTIVE INVOLVEMENT OF STUDENTS WITH PRACTICAL EXAMPLES AND GROUP WORK. ATTENDANCE AT LECTURES IS NOT COMPULSORY BUT STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. |

ACHIEVEMENT OF THE COURSE OBJECTIVES WILL BE VERIFIED BY MEANS OF A PROJECT WORK TO ASCERTAIN COMPETENCES AND PRACTICAL SKILLS IN LEADERSHIP, DECISION MAKING AND QUALITY MANAGEMENT. ACHIEVEMENT OF THE COURSE OBJECTIVES WILL ALSO BE VERIFIED BY AN ORAL INTERVIEW AIMED AT ASCERTAINING FULL MASTERY OF THE THEORETICAL TOPICS PROPOSED. THE EVALUATION WILL BE UNIQUE FOR THE COURSE AND THE FINAL GRADE WILL BE THE AVERAGE OF: THE EVALUATION IN THIRTIETHS ACHIEVED WITH THE PROJECT WORK AND THE EVALUATION IN THIRTIETHS ACHIEVED WITH THE INTERVIEW. THE MINIMUM ASSESSMENT LEVEL (18) IS AWARDED WHEN THE STUDENT HAS A FRAGMENTARY KNOWLEDGE OF THE THEORETICAL CONTENT (DURING THE INTERVIEW) AND SHOWS A LIMITED ABILITY TO USE IT IN THE CONTEXT OF STUDY (IN THE PROJECT WORK). THE HIGHEST LEVEL (30) IS AWARDED WHEN THE STUDENT DEMONSTRATES A COMPLETE AND THOROUGH KNOWLEDGE OF THE METHODOLOGIES AND TOOLS (DURING THE INTERVIEW) AND HAS A REMARKABLE ABILITY TO USE THEM IN THE CONTEXT OF STUDY (AS PART OF THE PROJECT WORK). HONOURS IS AWARDED WHEN THE CANDIDATE DEMONSTRATES SIGNIFICANT MASTERY OF THE METHODOLOGIES AND TOOLS AND SHOWS REMARKABLE OWNERSHIP OF LANGUAGE (DURING THE INTERVIEW) AND THE ABILITY TO PROCESS THEM INDEPENDENTLY, EVEN IN CONTEXTS OTHER THAN THOSE PROPOSED BY THE LECTURER (AS PART OF THE PROJECT WORK). |
