Objectives
PROVIDE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TECHNOLOGIES USED IN TISSUE ENGINEERING. THE COURSE INTEGRATES THE BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF BIOMATERIALS, TRANSPORT PHENOMENA, BIOREACTOR AND TISSUE ENGINEERING WITH FUNDAMENTAL KNOWLEDGE OF CELLULAR AND MOLECULAR MECHANISMS FOR THE FABRICATION IN VITRO OF BIO-HYBRIDS TISSUE.

IN PARTICULAR, STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO IDENTIFY THE PROPERTIES OF THE MOST IMPORTANT MATERIALS FOR CERTAIN APPLICATIONS IN THE BIOMEDICAL FIELD AND TO REACH ORIGINAL AND AUTONOMOUS OPINIONS ON POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS TO CONCRETE PROBLEMS.
Verification of learning
THE LEARNING TESTS INCLUDE IN ITINERE AND FINAL TEST WITH INTERVIEW.

AT THE END OF THE COURSE, STUDENTS MUST:
1. POSSESS THE BASIC COGNITIVE TOOLS NECESSARY FOR UNDERSTANDING THE BASIC MECHANISMS OF TISSUE REGENERATION PROCESSES.
2. DEMONSTRATE THAT IT HAS ACQUIRED ADEQUATE KNOWLEDGE AND ASSESSMENT SKILLS FOR THE RESOLUTION INDEPENDENTLY OF CONCRETE PROBLEMS CONCERNING THE INTERACTION BETWEEN MATERIALS AND LIVING TISSUE.
3. DISCUSS, WITH ORIGINALITY AND AUTONOMY, ABOUT THE CELLULAR FUNCTIONS IN RELATION TO THEIR ABILITY TO IMPLEMENT REGENERATION PROCESSES.
