Teaching Methods
THE COURSE IS DIVIDED IN FRONTAL LESSONS (88 HOURS) AND IN-CLASS EXERCISES TO BE SCHEDULED DURING RECEPTION / TUTORING HOURS, ACCORDING TO THE LEARNING PERFORMANCE AND TO THE NEEDS OF SINGLE STUDENTS AND / OR THE CLASS. THE LESSONS WILL ALLOW THE STUDENT TO ACQUIRE THE BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF GENERAL CHEMISTRY AND ORGANIC CHEMISTRY, PREPARATORY FOR THE STUDY OF MOLECULAR MECHANISMS AT THE BASIS OF THE STRUCTURE, ORGANIZATION AND FUNCTIONS OF LIVING MATTER, MAIN SUBJECTS OF BIOCHEMISTRY AND OF BIOLOGICAL AND BIOMEDICAL DISCIPLINES. THE PRACTICAL EXERCISES WILL ALLOW THE STUDENT TO ACQUIRE SKILLS IN DESCRIBING AND ORGANIZING THE REACTIVITY OF THE MAIN FUNCTIONAL GROUPS OF ORGANIC CHEMISTRY IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND MOLECULAR AND SUPRA-MOLECULAR INTERACTIONS.
Verification of learning
THE EXAM CONSISTS OF A WRITTEN TEST AND AN ORAL TEST. IN THE WRITTEN TEST THE STUDENT WILL BE ASKED TO SOLVE EXERCISES AIMED AT VERIFYING THE STUDENT'S ABILITY TO APPLY THE KNOWLEDGE MATURED DURING THE COURSE TO NUMERICAL CALCULATION FOR THE SOLUTION OF SIMPLE PROBLEMS OF GENERAL CHEMISTRY AND STOICHIOMETRY, AND TO SOLVE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE STRUCTURE, PROPERTIES AND REACTIVITY OF ORGANIC COMPOUNDS AND MOLECULES OF BIOLOGICAL INTEREST.
THE ORAL TEST WILL BE DEDICATED TO THE DISCUSSION OF THE WRITTEN ELABORATE AND TO THE VERIFICATION OF THE THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE AND CRITICAL SKILLS DEVELOPED IN THE UNDERSTANDING OF CHEMICAL PHENOMENA AND OF THE STRUCTURE, FUNCTION AND REACTIVITY OF MOLECULES OF BIOLOGICAL, PHARMACEUTICAL AND MEDICAL INTEREST.
