336EXERCISES
Objectives
THE COURSE PROVIDES THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE OF PHYSICAL QUANTITIES OF INTEREST IN ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE AND ON THEIR CORRECT MEASUREMENT TECHNIQUES. THE THEORETICAL TEACHINGS ARE COMPLEMENTED BY PRACTICAL LABORATORY EXERCISES.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
THE COURSE IMPROVES THE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE PROCESSES OCCURRING IN THE PHYSICAL WORLD AT VARIOUS LEVELS, FROM MICRO TO MASCOSCOPIC SCALE. IN THIS FRAMEWORK IT AIMS TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH KNOWLEDGE OF THE TECHNIQUES OF MEASUREMENT OF PHYSICAL QUANTITIES OF ENVIRONMENTAL INTEREST, THE TYPES OF INSTRUMENTS AND SENSORS, TECHNIQUES FOR INTERFACING THE INSTRUMENTS AND DATA TRANSMISSION.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO USE THE KNOWLEDGE GAINED TO IMPROVE QUALITATIVELY AND QUANTITATIVELY THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE PHYSICAL PROCESSES OCCURRING IN THE ENVIRONMENT.. MORE SPECIFICALLY THE STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO USE SIMPLE AND ADVANCED INSTRUMENTATION FOR THE CORRECT MEASUREMENT OF PHYSICAL QUANTITIES OF INTEREST IN ENVIROMENTAL SCIENCES.
Prerequisites
ADEQUATE KNOWLEDGE OF GENERAL PHYSICS AND, IN PARTICULAR ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS.

Teaching Methods
LECTURES ON THEORETICAL ASPECTS OF THE COURSE. (3CFU)
LABORATORY EXERCISES ORIENTED TO THE MEASUREMENT OF PHYSICAL QUANTITIES. (3CFU)

PRESENCE AT THE LECTURES IN NOT COMPULSORY, WHILE IT IS REQUESTED TO PARTICIPATE TO AT LEAST 2/3 OF THE LABORATORY EXERCISES.
Verification of learning
TO PASS THE EXAM THE STUDENT MUST PERFORM AT LEAST 2/3 OF THE LABORATORY EXPERIMENTS AND PRODUCE THE TECHNICAL REPORTS.
THE EXAM IS IN ORAL FORM IN WHICH THE STUDENT
- EXPLAINS THE WORK DONE IN THE LABORATORY,
- ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS REGARDING THE SUBJECTS OF THE LECTURES

THE MARK WILL DEPEND ON THE OVERALL EVALUATION OF THE EXPERIMENT REPORTS AND ON THE QUALITY AND COMPLETENESS OF THE ORAL REPORT.
